Hello all! First of all, I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who supports me on my blog! 400 Followers is a big milestone and I’m still in shock. Two days ago, when I announced I was going to do this Q’n’A, I was at 397, now I’m at 415! That’s awesome! New followers, I really appreciate the support, and please feel free to stop by and say hi so I can get to know you! It’s getting harder for me to keep up with all you guys, so I can only check out your blog if you let me know you’re around! 🙂

You guys who have been with me for a while, and constantly show your support for my blog, thank you!! You make blogging such a fun experience.

Also, thanks for leaving me a ton of questions! I was nervous that I wouldn’t get any, and things would be awkward, but you guys were too cool to let that happen XD

Okay, enough rambling, let’s get to the questions. There’s a lot to get through!

What is something that made you really happy/laugh in the last month? I told my parents about my blog! Specifically this post: Things I Learnt From My Dad. Mum and Dad both said it made them cry and they loved it so much. Dad even left a long rambly comment, clarifying about the soccer incident. It made me smile so much that my face hurt!
Have you ever traveled and had a weird experience? I had a kind of weird experience in Peru. Everyone thought I was a local there. I would get spoken to in Spanish, and I would stare at them with wide, lost eyes till they realized their mistake. Good times.
Waffles or pancakes?! You can’t make me choose between them Tabi!! I refuse! I will take them both, thank you! 😀

Linda asks:

In a year from now, what would you like to see Rory and yourself doing? What will life for future Ang look like? So I’m not sure if this was meant to be two questions or one, but I will answer them together. So one year from now, ideally, we would have bought a home. Or at least have saved up a ton, and be on the hunt for a first home. We’re both excited to think about buying a place and getting to fill it up with all our stuff! I’d like to see us continue settling down and setting up roots. But at the same time, we also hopefully have done a little more travelling. We’re planning a trip down South somewhere later in the year. Life for future Angela will hopefully see me saving up more, seeing more of this amazing country I live in, and building a home with Rory.

What’s your favourite type of accent? This may sound weird, but I’m gonna go German, specifically, Heidi Klum. I love hearing her talk. It may be cause I have been stuck in a Project Runway Netflix binge for a week, but her voice is so relaxing to hear.
What’s something you want to achieve this year? I want to read 20 books!! I’ve taken on the Goodreads 2017 Challenge, because it dawned on me that in the past two years, I’ve read only like 3 new books which sucks! I’m doing alright so far, I’ve read 7 , and I’m onto number 8, so I’m on track!

What is your best blogging tip? Interact with fellow bloggers. It’s literally the best thing you can do, and it’s so much fun! You get to meet like-minded people, and discover new blogs and experiences through these bloggers. Look through tags, or go through Daily Post, they do challenges and prompts, and have lots of avenues to help bloggers connect. The main way I like to find new blogs is by recommendations through tags/awards/challenges from bloggers I like and regularly follow 🙂
What is your life mantra? Being positive and kind to others really doesn’t take too much. You guys know my favourite quote: I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel. And also “Good for her, not for me” (Amy Poehler).

Are there any conspiracy theories you believe in or find super interesting? I don’t really believe in any. But I find it funny reading about them, as some can get really crazy and have people zooming in to the tiny details, while the X-Files theme song plays in the background. I don’t know though, there’s so many out there, who can keep up?
Would you rather have a dog sized elephant or an elephant sized dog? This led to a lot of discussion from me and Rory. See, I think a dog sized elephant would be adorable. Cause it’s a tiny pet elephant. But Rory says that it would still have regular elephant abilities and physics, so if it jumped on me, I would die. But I think that it would have dog physics, as its dog size. So it’s like having a dog, but it’s actually an elephant. An elephant that got hit with a shrink ray, you know? Anyway, we spent way too long trying to figure this out.
If you could go to any point in time where would you go? Would I have to stay there? Or could I be like the Doctor, and stop by for a visit then say Bye! If it’s the latter, then I would love to go through all the eras in time, including the future. Just to have a peek. If I had to stay there, then I would rather stay where I currently am. After all “Look around, look around, at how lucky we are to be alive right now” (Thanks Hamilton).
Do you have an secret party tricks? I’m sad to say that I do not 😦

Favorite season? I’m gonna go with Autumn. I like wrapping up in all the layers. Boots, scarves, cardigans. Lots of great things.
One thing you would grab in a fire? Phone.. Laptop if I had time. Glasses? These things are all close together so I  could just grab them consecutively on my way out the burning house…right?
Something you are looking forward to in the next month? If you mean June, then I’m excited about getting the rest of my wedding photos! They should be coming in by the end of June and I’ll be getting literally hundreds! I’ll be able to print them all and have fun setting up an album!

What’s one song that you will never get tired of listening to? Currently, I’m in love with Galway Girl. To be honest though most of Ed Sheeran’s songs can be listened to forever. I still love Shape of You, Thinking Out Loud, Photograph, Lego House, all the songs.

What’s one that you would never like to hear again? I don’t really listen to the radio or anything, so I don’t get sick of songs much, mostly cause I’m not aware of them. So…there’s not really a song I would never like to hear again.

Where are you from? New Zealand! I am also half Filipino 😀
What’s your opinion on Africa? Have you everything there? If not would you like to travel there? And if yes what country? My opinion on Africa is pretty neutral. I have not been there, but I don’t really see the appeal of travelling there. Maybe Egypt, for the pyramids? But I’m not too fond of really hot countries. Fiji was hot, but there was a beach close by. The wildlife is the biggest appeal for me, but overall, I’m not really interested in visiting Africa personally.
Do you plan on getting kids soon? Not that soon. First, we want a house, and then save up a little bit again. Then we’ll think about kids. We do want kids, but we’d like to be in a more financially stable place first.
What was the reason you started this blog? I wanted to note down my memories in one place, mostly travel related ones. That’s how it started, then once the travel slowed, I filled up my blog with my other interests and rambles about life.
Would you ever consider monetizing your blog? Not anytime soon. Maybe one day? But I don’t really do reviews or anything, so I don’t know that would work. Who knows?It’s not a priority.
What’s the worst part about blogging for you? I love blogging, but I do focus a lot of energy and time into it. Which means that sometimes I spend way too much time writing posts, reading posts, commenting and such, that I run the risk of losing track of time and not getting much else done, or being late for work. It’s important to take breaks, and I’ve been working on that.

Are you planning to have kids soon? If so, how many would you like and what gender? Not too soon, house first. But not ages away either, realistically, within five years probably. Rory and I want a max of two. Preferably a boy and girl. We have names we like picked out already 😛 Rory has more boy names thought out, while I have more girl names XD Also, twins run in my family, and I have a sinking feeling that I, myself, may end up with twins. I’ve always had this weird feeling about it…I guess one day we’ll see.
Would you rather visit the remnants of Titanic or be locked up in a haunted house? I would rather not go diving down underwater where there is no oxygen, so sure lock me up in a haunted house.
What would you like your children to be when they grow up? I have no idea. I’d like them to be kind, awesome human beings. As long as they’re decent people, they can do whatever they want.

What goals do you have to do with blogging? To keep at it for a year. I think that’s my current goal with it. My blog is growing faster than I ever imagined, so in terms of  that I have no specific goals. I just want to keep writing and blogging, and enjoy the ride 🙂

What’s your favourite quote/saying? I’ve already mentioned my two absolute favourite earlier. So let’s include another Maya Angelou one “Never make someone a priority when all you are to them is an option”.

Why choose only one?

Do you wish to have any pets? I would like to have pets one day. I think a cat and a dog would be nice.

What kind of house are you hoping to live in? We are looking at 2 to 3 bedroom houses. I would like a 3 bedroom, cause then there’s one for us, then a guest room, and maybe an office! Or possibly a kids room, one day? We would like a garage, or at least off street parking. A little, low maintenance yard. A kitchen that’s not tiny, so we have space to move around. Basically, a nice little suburbia house. But not one that’s attached to it’s neighbouring house. We’d like our own space.

What’s your favorite thing about being married? Has it changed something? My favourite thing about being married is being able to call Rory my “husband”. I do it constantly, and it still makes me smile. He is now saved as “Husband” in my contacts on my phone. (He also constantly calls me wife, sometimes ‘waifu’ cause it makes him laugh when I make a face) It hasn’t changed anything to be honest. We’ve been living together for three years, so it’s basically the same now that wedding and honeymoon have finished and we’re back to regular life.
Are your students parents easy to deal with? Do you have any stories? Most of the time, yes! My parents are lovely to talk to and I like chatting to them about their children’s days. There have been a very small handful who have been tricky to talk to, only because they are a bit ‘overprotective’. They ask about every single detail on what they ate, drank, when they slept, what their bowel motion was like, was that spot or scratch there that morning. But, everyone has different parenting styles, and I know it must be hard for working parents to leave their children in daycare all day. So with these parents, we keep detailed accounts throughout the day so we can answer their questions thoroughly, and they leave with peace of mind. That being said, we have had very rare occasions where a parent was being downright rude to us, and a team leader or our manager would step in.
What is yours and Rory’s favorite date night activity? We have a weekly date night thing going on at the moment. Every Wednesday night, we get snacks and either watch a movie or play games. I’m more fond of playing games, he likes watching movies. We prefer being indoors nowadays, it’s waaay cheaper.
What do you hope to accomplish until the end of the year? I have been trying to do more exercises. I have been on and off with this since the beginning of the year, and I really fell off the wagon after wedding and honeymoon. However, I’ve been consistently doing it these past two weeks which I’m pretty proud of.

How many kids do you want in your future family? Two! Not just one, because we do like the idea of siblings (we both have two siblings) which is why we decided two, not one.
If you could shop at only one store (for clothes) for the rest of your life which store would it be? I’m gonna go with Forever New. It’s pretty much like Forever 21 over in the States. It’s full of pretty clothes which would get ruined at my work, but if I can only shop at one store, let me go to the one that has so many pretty options 😀

  2. Oh well that was a fun post to read so don’t go worrying about the length of it. Congratulations on reaching the 400 mark. Celebrate with donuts? I would say get a tiny elephant (who shall not grow too tall hopefully) and a big big dog. Imagine, both of you will have extra cuddles and free rides at hand! 😉

    1. Thank you! I always worry about making posts too long, but as long as it’s fun to read then I guess its all good 😀 I do want donuts now actually 🙂
      I would love a tiny elephant, because I just love miniature things in general. But I feel that dogs are very energetic, and an elephant sized dog would break everything I own XD

      1. Ah no but you train him with donuts 😉 Every time he is good, he gets a donut reward. Actually maybe not, make it doggie donut treats. Cannot even imagine what all that sugar would do to him. Would you rather have a chihuahua? I am not into size discrimination but you might have to look hard to find that small a wagger 😛 Sigh I have just finished a big plate of salad for dinner and I do not mind something terribly sweet too. But well, I will have to wait till tomorrow.

      2. Oh XD I always assume donuts are for me 😀
        I think they would prefer doggies treats. They go crazy for those biscuits. And I could give my little elephant peanuts. I like big dogs, but I know a very affectionate one, and he has been known to squish me in his affectionate ways. A smaller dog like a beagle would be nice 😀 In general though, I think I prefer cats a teensy bit more, as they can show affection but also keep their distance 🙂

      3. Ahem, I see. You like loving them from a distance. The do-not-leave-your-fur-on-me-however-adorable-you-be kinds. The good thing about cats is that they keep themselves clean. Beagles are adorable. I think a beagle, a cat and a mini elephant might do famously well together 😉 Btw I just remembered one of my favourite reads, Rosy is My Relative. Have you read it? It is immensely adorable. You might like it 😉

    1. Thank you! I’m glad you agree about the small elephant, the idea just sounds so cute! And yes, I’m aware that in real life I would have to deal with neighbours, but as long as they’re far away from my space and house, then I’m okay XD

  6. Fun post, and great answers. One of your answers made me laugh, about the overprotective parents. When we sent my son to preschool, I started as the overprotective parent, but quickly whittled down to only one question each day at pick up time: “Oh no, what did he do??” 😛

    1. Ha! I’ve seen that happen too, it can’t be easy leaving them in a new place all day. But once they’re settled and having fun, then it’s all good! I always laugh when the kids don’t want to leave, there’s one little girl at the moment who when she sees her mum at the end of the day, she’ll say No no no, and run back outside to the sandpit and the slides XD

      1. haha, that is my kid too. I had him enrolled in preschool from 8-11:30, but other kiddos stayed all day. So the first few times I picked him up, he would wail because he wanted to stay and eat with his friends. So I gave in and started packing his lunch. Then eventually he would cry because he wanted to stay and play after lunch. Then full-day kindergarten started and my sweet (exhausted) boy was finally happy to come with me 🙂

  8. YAY this Q & A was so fun to read. I love seeing the creative questions everyone came up with! Also I have to note that with your future house….YES to the garage and AT LEAST one off street parking! That is such a good point to make and I never think to add that but it’s certainly something that Andrew and I consider when looking for an apartment or condo. Right now we both are lucky enough to have parking spots at our apartment but it sucks because we have to pay an extra $75 for the 2nd car. But yes good point!!! xoxo

It’s definitely something that you don’t really think about until you realize there’s no parking around so you’ll have to pay for a parking spot :/ Rory and I live in town at the moment, and we have to pay $115 a year for residents parking, which isn’t too bad really. But still we’d prefer to put that money elsewhere if we could 😛
