30 Days of Blogging Challenge – Day 19

Hi! Welcome to Day 19. Also, it’s Friday. That’s unrelated, but man I’ve had a long week. Anyway, remember thatΒ MaggieΒ andΒ CheilaΒ are also doing this challenge πŸ™‚ (If you follow all three of us, then you’re probably well aware of this already XD )

So if you read the little excerpt thing, you’ll already know, that today’s prompt is about Why I Started My Business. Now, to be completely honest, I do not have a business. You guys may know that I’m a daycare teacher for under two year olds. I also spend all my free time blogging, so I can’t also fit in a business.

For this prompt, I thought I’d look into what I could start as a business, maybe way down the line.

Tutoring

Now this could cover a few topics. I consider myself pretty good at standard numeracy and literacy, so I could help with that. But mostly, I like the idea of tutoring music. You guys might know that I use to tutor two little kids in piano. It was more of a volunteer job, I didn’t get paid much, but I enjoyed it. Tracking down music I thought they’d enjoy, planning out how to break the piece down into manageable pieces. I wouldn’t mind doing this again, as its still teaching, but a bit more technical. Could be fun!

Baking

Okay, so I’m no pro, like at all. But I do love baking. I mostly stick with cookies because I love cookies. But I also really like cakes, muffins and cupcakes. So it’d be an oddly specific baking business, but it would be fun to do! I would need to work on my baking skills as beyond cookies they’re pretty rusty. Maybe I could hire bakers, and just run things behind the scenes. Maybe you can helpΒ Anni? XD

I don’t know if there’s a correct term for this, but how awesome would it be to have blogging as your legit job? I’m sure that’s the dream for a lot of us. But being able to write about what we love, do travel, and share all these experiences as your job!! How awesome would that be. If it was a business, then I would want to have a proper website, and have lots of cool bloggers with me, so we all talk about something we’re passionate about so the website can be about anything and everything! I’m over in dreamland now πŸ˜›

Anyway, that’s all I can think of for now. They all seem fun, some a little far-fetched, but let me dream πŸ˜›

I’m very happy in my career, and I plan on staying in it for the forseeable future πŸ™‚

Do you guys have any dreams about starting your own business?

Angela.

  1. Yep. Blogging as a full-time job.
Seems completely unachievable! But just got to keep your head up, never give up and continue doing what you absolutely love doing! Resilience is key. Any maybe in a few years time, you and I might even see a dream or two come true. 😜

  2. If only I could have a baking business and make it my whole life πŸ˜‚ I’ve thought about the tutoring thing too, for me it would be biology tutoring and assuming I move home full time again once I’ve finished my masters I may look in to getting myself listed as a biology tutor for GCSE/A-level students

  4. I love this topic, well not that I have my own business either lol but if I did, I do similar things- I’ve always wanted to open up my own coffee shop and serve like solely coffee and macaroons πŸ™‚ And a professional blogger too, so that I can have my own blogging room as well πŸ˜‰

    1. It’s fun to think about potential future businesses! That’s cool that you want to open your own cafe! Especially if you serve macaroons, I love them πŸ˜€

    1. Ooh, your cafe/bookshop idea sounds amazing! I used to go to a cafe that was part of a bookstore, it was so much fun to browse for a book, then sit down with some coffee and cake πŸ˜€

  5. I have a dream of opening a Nonprofit. I have two passions. One I developed in high school: I was doing this dinner exercise at an outreach event and that exercise was how I learned the vast majority of the world was living in poverty and through that exercise my eyes were opened up. I realized I had to do something to reach out to that community and volunteering for that community became a passion of mine.

My blog clearly shows I have a passion for musicals. I am thinking of opening up a theatre where the poverty population can be involved.
