30 Days of Blogging Challenge – Day 20

MaggieCheila and I are doing the 30 Days of Blogging Challenge. Here we are at Day 20.

Today is about What Makes My Products Unique. I think this what meant to be related to that whole business thing. But again, I don’t have a business, nor do I sell anything. So, I will follow Maggie’s lead and change the prompt. I’ve decided to also make mine music related.

I’m going to open up my music player, and put it on shuffle. Then I’ll list the first 10 songs that come up. I never really delete songs, so who knows what could show up? Also, I have a lot of musicals and sountracks, so it may just be all that who knows?

Here we go.

1) Something There – Beauty and the Beast Soundtrack

This is such a cute song. I still listen to this every now and then 🙂

Leisurely Drives #2

Hello friends! Remember Leisurely Drives, well you guys really liked it, which is great! Cause I loved making it 😀

Ready for some more pictures I took from the car while we were driving around on a sunny day? Yes?

Well then, let’s go!

20170506_123430 (1)

You made it to the end! I did take more pictures than this, but there was a lot of blurry ones. Maybe I should start editing my photos too, cause I never do. Except for on Instagram, but that’s cause they’re already on the app, I don’t have to open another program.

Anyway, you may have noticed a YouTube link underneath this paragraph. I have said that I’m interested in trying to do videos as well as blogs…Well this is my first real effort. I started videoing on another drive instead of just taking pictures. I downloaded a free video editing program, looked around online for songs that I could freely download and use without royalty costs. Then I spent way longer than I thought I would cutting together footage and trying to match it to the music. I also kept in random bits of audio which I thought were funny. But anyway, feel free to have a watch and let me know what you think 🙂 All constructive criticism welcome.

The music is Good Times by Podington Bear. I found it here. Also, this video is less than 2 minutes, but took me around 2 hours to make. Yikes, I feel for all those YouTubers.

Anyway, I am keeping in the back of my mind, other ideas that might work for videos. It may be a while before I do a talking one, cause it still feels awkward. That’s still a future goal though, cause this was fun 🙂

30 Days of Blogging Challenge – Day 19

Hi! Welcome to Day 19. Also, it’s Friday. That’s unrelated, but man I’ve had a long week. Anyway, remember that Maggie and Cheila are also doing this challenge 🙂 (If you follow all three of us, then you’re probably well aware of this already XD )

So if you read the little excerpt thing, you’ll already know, that today’s prompt is about Why I Started My Business. Now, to be completely honest, I do not have a business. You guys may know that I’m a daycare teacher for under two year olds. I also spend all my free time blogging, so I can’t also fit in a business.

For this prompt, I thought I’d look into what I could start as a business, maybe way down the line.

Jessica Jones

Jessica Jones

A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, and here we are at J. Did you sing the Alphabet song when you first read the beginning? I did. Anyway, J is for Jessica Jones! We’re nearly halfway through the alphabet now.

Sidenote, I love this image they used for the show. It’s so cool. As you can see, this is yet another Netflix backed show. What can I say, they have some amazing shows. You guys may or may not know, that I am a fan of superhero shows. I watched Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl, but I lost interest. Jessica Jones is only one season so far, so it still holds my interest. Plus, it’s pretty damn good.

30 Days of Blogging Challenge – Day 18

MaggieCheila and I are doing the 30 Days of Blogging Challenge. Here we are at Day 18.

Today’s prompt is about Things I Have Learned From Blogging.

Here’s a few things I have learnt during my few months blogging.

  • How much I love writing – this little blog has reignited my passion for writing. I love writing, about anything and everything. Its nice to have this as a creative outlet 😀
Just two months in, and I have already wrote more than 100 posts
  • How much I love taking photos – like with writing, I have realized how much I love to photograph what goes on around me. I know people say to live in the moment and not through your phone, but I like a healthy dose of both. I want to capture moments so I can look back on them, and then I’ll put the camera down and enjoy myself (before bringing it back a few minutes later). I take so many photos, you guys only see a small portion, but I love going through them all on lunch breaks, or rainy days, and reliving all these memories.

Makara Beach

Makara Beach

Hallo! Welcome to another little TBT post. Today’s is about a place I have very briefly mentioned before in the blog. It’s about Makara Beach. I had never heard of this place before, but Rory had frequented it with his family as they liked to walk there. So in 2015, on a Labour Day weekend, Rory drove us up there, so we could do this little walk up the hill.

It was a very stony beach

As we made our way past the carpark, we came across this beach. It was very stony. To the left, there was a little path and a sign showing us more about the walk.

A helpful little sign

There were a few options we could take. We went with the ones that went up to the Fort Opau gun battlements. The full walk takes few hours, but we decided on just doing a small part (we got hungry).

My Heritage

My Heritage

This week’s photo challenge is about Heritage.

I immediately took this to mean about family and culture. It could be interpreted a range of different ways, but as regular readers know, I absolutely love my family. I also love talking about them. So here we go again.

I am bicultural. I have lived most of my life in New Zealand, so that side may come out stronger, but I also consider myself a Filipina (mostly in spirit, as I keep meaning to relearn Tagalog). My dad is from New Zealand, and my mum is from the Philippines.

back in nz

I consider myself a proud Kiwi. Our country is beautiful, it’s a tiny island sure, but it’s packed full of incredible sights. Lord of the Rings and Weta have certainly helped boost our image of that 😛

As with any sights, you just sometimes have to go out of your way to find it.

As for my Filipino side, I was there when I was incredibly young. I only lived there from when I was 4-6. However, I do remember from my time there, that it gave me an amazing work ethic (which I since lost and then regained yay!). The schooling system was very different from kindergarten back home, there was more of a focus on academia. For that, I’m thankful, as when we came back to New Zealand, it gave me a boost, and for most of my school life, I was doing work above my grade level.

I have also inherited a lot from my family.

Including biological traits. I have inherited my parent’s black hair and brown eyes. Their short to average height (For some reason though, my sister is an Amazon). My dad’s poor eyesight which means I require glasses. A slightly lighter version of my mum’s darker skin, which also gives me the ability to tan fairly fast in summer (thanks Mum!).

As well as personality traits. I have a weird sense of humour. I love to photograph everything, bake, and give out hugs thanks to Mum. I love movies, computer games and board games thanks to Dad. Also, my love of mini golf! Is there any better outdoor activity? 😀

Finally, I have inherited my love of family birthday traditions. Every year, for each birthday, we will get together for a dinner, cake, presents, and chats. (Similarly for Christmas.) Most recently, we got together for my Dad’s birthday last weekend. Next month, it’s my brother’s turn.

Heritage is fun to stop and think about, especially when you have an amazing family. I have been shaped a lot by how I grew up and my parents. I have since grown up and left home, but I look forward to one day passing my own heritage down to future generations (not any time soon though!)

30 Days of Blogging Challenge – Day 17

We’re at Day 17 of the Challenge. I’m doing this with my blogging buddies Maggie and Cheila, so check out their responses to the prompts too!

Day 17 is about the Goals for my blog.

I have a few goals in mind for Life of Angela.

Here are my current ones:

  • Currently, I want to keep up with daily blogging. I haven’t missed a single day since I started, I’m now also up to two or three posts a day, which is crazy.
  • I will see through the 30 Day Blogging Challenge with the ever amazing Maggie and Cheila 🙂
  • I want to finish my A-Z Challenge of TV shows, it doesn’t get as much traffic as my other posts. but I’m committed to finishing it. Once I complete it I can give myself a pat on the back, cause I’m starting to struggle with some letters XD But it’s a challenge! And I will also see it through.
  • I want to continue doing the Weekly Photo Challenges through Daily Post. I love finding out the new theme, and trying to come up with my own interpretation or spin on it.
  • I also want to stick with doing weekly TBT posts, it’s fun to look back and decide which story I want to share with you guys.
  • Keep up to date with reading all of your posts. This is where I lose track of time the most. I get so into reading your posts and stories, that I get annoyed that I have to head back to work, or that I have some errand to do. But it’s important to enjoy life too. I’m starting to find that balance.

Here are some future goals:

  • I have never been one to aim for many followers, but this blog has surpassed every expectation I had. I thought it would be nice to reach 100, and I’m already past 400 at a few months in! I like the roundness of the number 1000. But that feels far away. For now, I’m enjoying where my blog is at, and the community that I’m a part of 🙂
  • Go self-hosted. I have been considering this for a while. However, I am trying to keep a tight lid on money because of our current plans. I am hoping towards the end of the year though, I might consider making the change. I will definitely let you guys know if I do, and give myself time to work it all out.
  • Videos. I’ve posted a few videos on here through YouTube. But I like the idea of one day making videos, on top of posts. I don’t think I would ever go full vlogger, because I am more comfortable typing on a computer, than speaking in front of a camera. But I would like to explore that avenue.

I’m happy to see where my blog will go. I’m still having so much fun, and I hope to keep carrying that momentum!

I wanted to include a photo, so here’s a photo of me on a massive chair

Thanks for reading all!
