Have You Met Cheila?

So, hey, quick intro. This is a new series I started yesterday called “Have You Met…?” where I talk about my favourite online friends, and hopefully convince you guys to go check them out if you haven’t already 😀

Yesterday’s was Have You Met Dippy Dotty Girl?

Ready, let’s go.

So, you’ve probably figured out who today’s post is about (cause her name’s in the title).

Haaaaaaaaave you met Cheila?

Btw, I love this photo Cheila!

The above photo came from me diving more into Pink For Days, which is the name of Cheila’s blog! Because she loves pink. Look at the jacket she’s wearing, pink. Case closed. Cheila, btw, if there was a spike in numbers on lots of your old posts, that was me! I got lost in a rabbit hole of posts, and I couldn’t get out for a while 😀

Anyway! Cheila is based in Lisbon, Portugal. She has a sister (who she is very close with and protective of). Cheila is 25. She lives with her long time partner Rui, and her little dog, Rosa (whose name means Pink in portugese, yes?). She had a small business, working as a private teacher and tutor, but took a break for health reasons and is slowly getting back into it. She is also studying a lot of things (English Studies, German, Italian, other things?). What I’m saying is, she wears lot of hats, figuratively.

The cutest dog

Cheila blogs about many things, all things really. Lists, to-dos, tips, stories, rambles. Her longest recurring series is Health For Days Journey, originally called Journal. This is where she lists her to-dos for the day, then updates us on how she went later on that day. She has good days, she has okay days, and she also has bad days. On her good days, Cheila can power through and get a lot of shit done. On other days, she just needs to rest and recharge, but still does what she can. I’m sure we can relate, we all go through shit (some more than others), and luckily it seems that all Cheila’s readers can understand and empathize.

I’ve included a little tidbit from her about me page.

This will be my creative and emotional outlet in many ways. So you will get all of me. Some days I’m happy and super productive and organized and high on energy and some days I’m just blah. On bad days I’m getting by, hour by hour, waiting to go home and crawl into bed. On really bad days, I don’t even get out of it. This is me, for now.

I’m trying my best to have more good than bad days (meaning trying to get better by taking my medication, going to my doctor regularly, doing therapy and all the things you should do in my situation) and I would say that most days I am calm, highly functional and even funny, so you might enjoy reading my blog.

Now let’s delve into some of her favourite posts of mine. There is again, a lot. I haven’t even tried to narrow them down (I did actually, there were way more!).

This is actually an oldie, and one I recently found going through the backlog of Pink For Days. It talks about how she and Rui met, their early days, and it’s so cute!! I’m a sucker for all love stories.

Ah, my first post of Cheila’s. I loved this idea, I borrowed it for my 300 followers milestone!! I remember thinking that Cheila seemed genuinely interested in her readers, and wanting to get to know them.

I love her little house tours! Rui and Cheila recently did some renovating around their place, and Cheila was awesome enough to show us all pictures!

I want this little coffee set up they’ve got going on

As you guys know, last month, Maggie, Cheila and I all took part in the 30 Day Blogging Challenge. These were my favourites of Cheila’s. In Day 5, Cheila talked more about her childhood which is a rollercoaster ride to say the least. But she also showed us pictures of her growing up! In Day 13, she talked about her dream job of being a doctor!! I loved reading this post, Cheila writes so passionately about how she loves both literature and science, that as much as she is good at teaching and enjoys it, it’s not her true passion. It was such an interesting read, and I hope she can eventually work out how to get closer to this dream job 🙂

What a sassy four year old!

How could I not include the amazing multiple day blogging party to celebrate Cheila reaching 1000 followers?

Finally, this is a post where Cheila just talks about a whole bunch of random stuff. It’s so much fun to read, and I’m guessing to write!

I will stop here, before it gets any more out of hand and I ramble even more about what an amazing person and blogger Miss Cheila is.

Just kidding, I’ll keep going.

Cheila, you are an incredible, supportive, and inspiring human being and blogger being. I am proud to consider you one of my best blogging friends, and overwhelmed and grateful that you consider the same of me. I love our random chats either late at night, or early in the morning. I know that you always tell us that you are there to talk with, and I want to extend that same thought to you. I would also love to say that should we ever meet in person one day we could watch a movie, but we both know that we would never agree on one. Perhaps we could just sit together, talk, and you could teach me to knit. That would be nice.

So, have you all met Cheila? I’m gonna assume yes. If not, go say hi.

The next Have You Met will continue next Saturday 🙂

Angela.

  1. That isss a beautiful picture of her! Cheila was one of the first people I met here and become my first blog friend. We first connected over the “pink” in our names lol. I now call her my soul sister💗 because we have so much in common and we’re usually going through similar things in life.

  2. Lovely photo of Cheila right at the start. I had not seen this one so you are taking me back to posts of our lady’s that I have not read. Oh, even the one of Rosa looking quite attentively at us. Adorable. Cheila cracks me up almost all the time 😀 So a big shoutout to the special one along with a big hug and to the one who penned this lovely post too. Okay, now for the next installment already xx

    1. I went through a lot of old posts, just reading for fun XD I came across both the top photo and the one of Rosa in my travels. Cheila is definitely a crack up XD
I have been having so much fun writing these! But I don’t want to burn through the series too fast, so the next installments won’t be till next weekend 😛

      1. Well you got us hooked alright 😉 But yes it does involve a whole lot of reading apart from the writing bit, so on my behalf you must keep up the strength with a cookie or two. It is crucial.

  4. Cheila is amazing and always so supportive! She does put a lot of herself into her blog and into her readers. I don’t know how she does it but she does and makes it look effortless. Great introduction to Cheila for those who don’t already know her. :):)

    1. Oh, my dear friend Margaret!! You’re just so sweet. I do put in a lot of work. And it’s hard. It takes so much time and effort to be so messy and such a disaster and look like a hardworker haha

      1. Hahahaha you are not messy and a disaster, you sweet thing LOL I mean I know we all feel like that at times( I can feel like that every other minute, plus a 100 other things) but it takes a real talent and commitment to do what you do. It shows passion and a caring that people are drawn to. It reads through in your posts.

  5. I have now, she sounds really cool!! hahaha This is so sweet and I wanted to cry because you said so many nice things about me. And you showed a picture of my bidet, that’s true love.Yes, Rosa does mean pink in Portuguese and it’s also a woman’s name, which leads to interesting conversations. The pink blazer I’m wearing in that picture is my favorite because the color is just perfect and the inside is pink with white polka dots and I’m wearing my favorite red lipstick. I do like that pic despite the fact that I look like a blowfish. hahaha You have no idea what I’m studying, do you? It’s super confusing. So, my degree is Languages, Literature and Cultures. Then, I have a major in American Studies and a minor in English Studies. I’m working on a secon minor in History. As a part of my degree, I get to study languages so I picked German and Italian 🙂 LOL what a mess. This post just made me so happy, you’re the best. So much love for you, dear girl. <3<3<3<3<3

    1. You’re so welcome Cheila!! That jacket sounds even more amazing now, I am a sucker for polka dots. You look beautiful in that picture, there’s nothing bad about it 😛
And yeah, I knew you were studying something, but I was wracking my brain trying to remember the specifics and I just got so confused XD
I have nothing but love and admiration for you too, dear Cheila 😀

  6. Yep. Definitely needs more pink. (Though you’ll never catch me anywhere near the office then).😰

Chey’s pretty awesome. She’s a beautiful hilarious special (of course… she has a nicky.😂) individual in my life. Also, I love her cause she’s introducing me to more and more bloggers to follow.

She writes amazing content. I wake up every morning and first thing I do is take out my phone and check my email for any notification concerning whether or not Chey has posted something. The thing about her is she’s not afraid to be herself and I respect that.

I bet we’ll all agree that one can never get bored when it comes to her. You’re either amazed at how much she can get done in a day or laughing at her wits.😂😂

It’s been a pleasure knowing you, girl. 😍😍

  7. Yes ! Loooove Cheila, and of course Cheila’s blog ! This is such a great idea to discover other bloggers, and it’s perfect that you give so much details about them so we can get to know them better 😀 Also I love that title, it reminds me of “Haaaaave you met Ted” in How I met Your Mother (Not sure if you know what i’m talking about though :p )
