Well hey guys, Angela Tries Beauty Box is one of my most liked posts ever. As a novice beauty blogger, this tickled me a little 😀
So last weekend, I received my Summer Favourites box from Marzia. For you guys who don’t know Marzia, she’s a Youtuber, Entrepreneur, Fashionista and general amazing lady. Also, she’s gorgeous. Fun fact, she shares the same birthday as Rory. The literal same day and year, October 21 1992.
Anyway, back to the main point. I got the summer favourites box, and I was so happy! I also got her Holiday Favourites box back in November. I still use a lot of the products. Especially the lipstick. It’s a nice Clinique one in a nude shade. It’s the one I used on my wedding day too! I’ve tried to order other things from her store but apparently its only these special boxes that can ship to New Zealand. Also, both boxes came to me in the wrong season, as the one last year was meant for Winter but I was in Summer, and this Summer Favourites is coming to me in Winter.
Alright, let’s get into this.
It also comes with a neat little card where Marzia talks about each product and why she likes it which is really nice.
As always, I like to try do a flat lay. But if I’m honest I don’t try that hard. I could…but I don’t.
I’m sure you guys could do better 😂. Anyway, onto the first item I tried. This hand cream by Crabtree and Evelyn called Caribbean Island Wild Flowers Hand Therapy. Such a long name.
It’s tiny which is good as that can fit into my handbag nicely. Marzia mentions it’s infused with macademia nut oil, shea butter and aloe. The lotion smells floral but not super overpowering which is nice. It also made my hands feel really nice and smooth. I keep using it for no reason. It may run out soon.
The second one is this Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk by Klorane. I don’t use dry shampoo that often, but I figured I’d give it a go.
Again, it smells really nice. A little floral, but also like powder-y if that makes sense. Anyway, I screeched really loud when I tried it (Rory was laughing at me), cause it came out more intense than I thought it would. It was a huge wooooosh, and I was not prepared. Anyway, I left it in and brushed out my hair after a few minutes. My hair felt more or less the same (it always does), but again, it smelt nice so that’s a bonus.
Onto the third thing. This Colour Pop Cosmetics eyeshadow. It’s pink and kinda shimmery.
It’s a bright colour, and if you guys read the last beauty post you’ll know I’m more into neutral things. The name of the eyeshadow is “Come and Get it” which is hilarious. Again though, while I hated it at first, it wasn’t too bad. I still prefer browns though. But this pink isn’t too bad.
The next item was a lip crayon by Honest Beauty. Which is pretty much a lip stick. Here’s it’s official super long name “Truly Kissable Sheer Lipstick Crayon in Chestnut Kiss”.
This one gets bonus points cause it does kinda look like a crayon!
To be honest, I didn’t notice too much of a difference when I put it on. Which is normally my kind of thing, as I like nude colours. They were just a bit more shiny. It also matched the eyeshadow funnily enough.
Okay, so the fourth thing. This Marc Jacobs mascara. Here comes the full name “Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara”.
I really do love the packaging for this!! It’s like a hexagon tube thing. Also, the mascara made a big difference with just one coat, which I was surprised with. It didn’t get clumpy, it didn’t feel super sticky and it dried fast. It’s the mascara I play with all the time now.
Now the fifth thing. This Vitamin C Concentrated Serum by Derma E. I am having so much fun typing out these long names.
I thought it was a spray at first, so I pressed the nozzle far away from my face and it fell on the floor. It’s a serum, so it’s like gloopy stuff. Good job Angela. Anyway, once I figured out what I should be doing, I liked it. It smells citrusy which I love. It’s a very summery smell. It also made my skin feel ‘light’ somehow. I don’t know how to explain it, but it did! I may try to save this until summer as it feels right to use then.
The last thing is a sheet mask by Leaders Cosmetics USA. “Aloe Soothing Renewal Mask” is the name. By the way, I don’t like sheet masks. So I delayed trying this on till Friday night.
I just realized that I look sad in each of the selfies I took with that on. They feel weird and sticky and it felt like it was trying to slide off my face constantly. You’re meant to keep it on for 20 minutes, but I lasted barely three. I peeled it off and freaked out that I felt so sticky. So I wiped it off. 20 minutes later though as I write this, my face feels nice. I don’t know if that’s cause of the mask, or cause I was so relieved to get it off. Either way, its’ gone now so good.
As always, this was really fun! I always like Marzia’s subscription boxes, I wish I was able to get the other ones as well. I keep trying but whenever I enter my address, it says there’s no shipping options for me. I’m definitely keeping these products and adding them to my slowly growing collection. Half of which was from my Holiday Favourites box from Marzia too. What can I say, she has good taste 🙂 (Except for sheet masks, they are weird and I will still hate them).
Angela.
You get a bucket of amazing products in the box!
I got to say – that holiday version was chocoblock with amazing goodies!! Hopefully it returns this year ☺️☺️

Sheet masks are definitely a weird experience that tends to be love it or hate it. They either relax you or freak you out immensely! The lipstick and eyeshadow look great!

That Marc Jacobs mascara looks awesome- your lashes look so friggin awesome!!!! I also love the lippie color, it suits you so well and I think it’s nice that it matches the shadow too, good eye Mariza!!! Does everyone get the same thing in every box?

Thanks Jenny!! Yeah, everyone gets the same things in the box. It’s quite cool, she lets you know in advance what’s in them too, so you can judge if you want them beforehand. You get them for pretty good value too considering the brands she involves in her boxes 😀

ooh, Colourpop & Derma-e! Nice!
Derma-e has so many great skincare products. They’re by far one of my favorite natural brands.

I don’t know too much about these brands. But Marzia who runs the subscription boxes is very into organic and natural brands, so I’m not surprised she’s used quite a few 😀
