30 Day Movie Challenge – Day 19

Day 19 – A Favourite Actor

Okay, so I don’t have just one favourite actors. I have many. So let’s just talk about them. Also, a lot of them will come from television shows more than movies, as I just watch more tv than movies.

Also, my favourite actors aren’t always based solely on acting skills or other talents. To me, if they’re also super nice and genuine, that immediately makes them more endearing.

Anyway, let’s get into it.

Chris Pratt

You guys will primarily know him from Parks and Recreation and Guardians of the Galaxy. He’s very funny and charasmatic, even before he get super buff. He can french braid hair, he’s super genuine and nice, he’s always visiting children hospitals, how can you not love the guy? Plus, he’s a good actor on top of all this.

Donald Glover

I primarily know him as Troy from Community. But he’s been in an endless amount of shows, both live action and animation. He’s been in a handful of films, and is set to star in a few upcoming ones like the Han Solo spin off (as Lando), and The Lion King live action remake (as Simba!!). He is also talented in the musical world as Childish Gambino. As far as anyone is concerned, he’s a triple threat. So besides all this talent already, he’s also insanely funny!

So anyway, here’s two songs from him. A classic one, and his latest one which threw me when I first heard it, but now I’m into it.

This got a bit off-topic.

Lin Manuel-Miranda

Literal cutie pie and genius. You guys will know him off Hamilton, but I remember seeing him in House when he guest starred. He’s also guest starred in a few other shows like How I Met Your Mother. He’s also incredibly kind, aware of issues, and seems like such a fun person to be around.

John Oliver

Another Community alum. He’s also appeared in a number of other shows and movies both in live action and animation. He is just so funny, and incredibly quick-witted. Have you guys seen Last Week Tonight? I can’t stop watching that show and that’s the only way I ever really know what’s going on in the US politically. As a comedian and political satirist, he strikes me as someone who won’t bullshit you, on top of being hysterical. He has a very self-effacing humour and often mocks himself as well as everyone else which is just fun.

So there you go. A number of favourite actors of mine who I like for a whole bunch of reasons. They are just talented, funny, and seem really nice, which is enough for me to brand them as favourites.

Who are some of your favourite actors?

Angela.

From Bondi to Coogee

From Bondi to Coogee

It’s been fun reflecting back on our Sydney travels. Today I wanted to talk about one of our highlights, visiting Bondi Beach, and doing the Bondi to Coogee walk.

From Bondi to Coogee

It’s hard not to think of Bondi when you think of Sydney. It’s probably one of the most famous beaches in the world, not the top one, but I would think it’s up there. We went there twice, the first time we had to cut our trip short as my phone had a mini meltdown and we needed to head back to our hotel to see if we could fix it (SD card had corrupted it for some bizarre reason). Before we headed back though, we started following the coastal walkway. It looked neat, but we were dressed for the beach, not a long walk.

Then we chilled out on the beach for a bit. The water was colder than I hoped it would be, so I just lay in the sun. Here comes the obligatory feet on the beach shot.

We came back a few days later, and focused on doing the walk. This was one of the best days of the trip. Just Rory and I hanging out, walking and enjoying each other’s company.

The walk is very popular, there were many other tourists around, as well as many joggers. The walk had lots of stops that had exercises, Rory stopped a fair few times to try them out, and I just watched.

The walk took us around 3 and a half hours, we were just meandering our way over. It’s not a hard walk, and it makes for an enjoyable morning. The beautiful scenery just keeps on coming, and we stopped to take it in a LOT. I could see myself doing that walk on a weekly basis if I was a local.

In case you weren’t sure of where you are, there are signs to help you along the way.

Finally, we reached Coogee. I found a giant chair and immediately climbed on top of it.

We had lunch, and then took a bus back. We originally planned to go to the tour of the Opera House that afternoon but all the tickets were gone. So instead, we went to Paddy’s market, and wandered around Haymarket and Chinatown. We tried some ice cream dough balls. It was as described, a small ice cream ball, concealed by a small doughnut. It was a strange sensation, but not a bad one.

At the end of the day, we bought ourselves some more little treats and settled in for an early night, and more adventures the following day.

That’s the end of Sydney Adventures! I had so much fun recalling all these past events and looking over past photos. It was definitely a highlight of 2016.

Skirt Collection

I decided to do a post showing all my skirts since Pamela did a post about her own dress collection and included skirts (as did Cheila)! So thanks for the extra inspiration again ladies! Here we go.

I have seven skirts at the moment.

20170715_130412

This black and white skirt. My sister Jo made back in 2010 or 2011. She left it behind when I moved out so I asked if I could have it. I quite like it, it’s stripy and comfy.

This denim skirt. I got it from a thrift store back in 2012. It’s from Levi’s, which is a well known denim brand. I got it for $6. I love this skirt, it’s got pockets!! I wore it constantly back in 2012, then for some reason I stopped wearing it so much. But I can’t get rid of it!

This blue mini skirt. I got it from the Warehouse back in 2012. I got it for $15. This was around the time I was doing temp office work so I was getting lots of office clothes as all I had was jeans. This is from Garage, which is an in-house brand that has nice stuff.

This blue maxi skirt. I got this from Temt back in 2013 I think. I got it for $25, full price, as it was not on sale. I tried it on and it fit perfectly without me having to hem it, which means an automatic buy for me. This is from Paper Scissors, which is an in-house brand for Temt.

The last three skirts are all from Paper Bag Princess which is a local thrift store.

This blue dragonfly skirt. I got it for $8 back in 2015. According to the tag, the skirt is from ASOS. It was so cute and swishy. I fell in love with it straight away. It’s a perfect summer skirt! I even wore it on our engagement shoot.

Angela&RoryEngagement050web

This cream/white lace floral skirt. I got it for $9 last year. According to the tag, the skirt is from TopShop. Again, another swishy, cute skirt. It also has laced floral designs. I again fell in love with it!

This white woollen skirt. I got it for $8 earlier this year. According to the tag, the skirt is from Zara. This is my only proper winter skirt. It feels nice and looks good on, so of course, I got it.

So that’s it for my skirt collection! I’ve also done posts on my Favourite Dresses, and My Shoe Collection.

Let me know which one is your favourite! Also, how many skirts do you guys have?

Angela.
