Let’s Cook! (Teriyaki Chicken Edition)

Maggie recently shared a recipe for Teriyaki Chicken, which she originally found here! Rory and I love Teriyaki Chicken so we wanted to try this recipe! We halved the recipe though, since we just need it to feed us two.

As usual, we use our rice cooker.

Here’s what you need for the sauce:

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1-1/4 teaspoons cornstarch

Combine honey, soy sauce, ketchup, pepper and garlic in a saucepan.

Over low heat, whisk almost constantly until simmering.

Add cornstarch and keep whisking until the sauce has thickened, about 6-8 minutes.

Set aside and start working on the chicken. Cut it up into smaller pieces first.

Brown the chicken, and add the veggies.

Cook everything. Make sure the chicken is cooked well (not pink on the inside). Serve chicken with rice and sauce.

It was so delicious! We definitely plan to make it again 😀

Have You Met Bea?

Hey guys!

Haaaaaaaaave you met Bea?

Bea blogs over at BeaFree. She’s based over in the United States. She’s 23, and works as a teacher (Teachers unite!). She’s been blogging on and off since she was 11, but her current WordPress blog has been active since February 2016. She blogs about a whole bunch of topics, from life, to awards, to interviews with fellow bloggers, to tips about blogging and working out, travel, and everything else!

Bea is one of the most well-known bloggers at the moment. Her blog is very popular (as is she!), she’s recently hit 5000 followers, and 6000 is not that far away now! Bea is always so supportive and kind, I love reading her posts! She has so many series on at the moment. Blogging Tips, As Told By A Substitute, Monday Motivation, Get to Know You interviews, and so much more!

Here are some of my favourite posts of hers:

Bea shares stories from her susbtituting adventures. There are some hilarious anecdotes from the next generation here.

Another of Bea’s long-running series, she shares blogging tips and tricks with us all!

The Magic Garden is a unique museum located in Philadelphia, Bea visited it, and shares about it in this post!

This is one of my all-time favourite tags. The travel tag gets bloggers to share about their favourite trips, their travel habits, and it’s always a fun read!

On one of her recent Q’n’A’s, I asked if we could learn more about her adorable dog Riley! So Bea made a Get to Know post about Riley. We get to learn so much about him, and see so many cute pictures!!

Bea has been doing lots of OOTD posts lately, and I love them! They’re so well shot, and Bea shows off so many amazing outfits! This romper is my personal favourite 😀

Each month, Bea shares with us the photos she’s been taking. Her past one has lots of amazing floral pictures we you should check out!

As said previously, Bea recently reached 5000!! That’s incredible! This post is her thank you for helping her blog reach that crazy number 😀

Bea recently shared a typical day in the life post. This is for a typical workday, and it’s just fun to read! I’m always interested to know what you guys get up to on an average day.

Make sure to check Bea on Instagram as well!

So, Bea! I wanted to say thank you for being so supportive and lovely. I’ve been following you for a long time, and you’re such an amazing presence in our community! I love that you were so sweet when I reached out to you to do an interview with you back in May, and I’m looking forward to this next one coming up soon! In fact, it might already be up, when this post goes up! I wanted to return the favour, and what better way than featuring you on my little Have You Met series! You’re incredible and I can’t wait to see where your blog goes next!

So, have you guys checked out Bea yet??

Angela.
