Beauty Haul & Mini Review

Hi! So, yesterday, I posted my weekend review. I talked about buying some beauty products. I wanted to make a little haul post, cause I don’t do those much, and they look like fun! So, here we go.

Here’s what I got from Mecca Maxima.

Urban Decay Long Lasting Make Up Setting Spray – All Nighter

I have never had makeup setting spray before, but I’ve been curious about it.ย Emilyย suggested this one. I’ve heard good things about it, and it was available, so I decided to buy the travel size to give it a shot. I’ve used it a few times, and I have noticed that I don’t need to do touchups at all ever. Even with concealer, so yay!

Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hairspray

I’ve been wanting to get some volumizing or texturizing hair spray, so I had a look around at some online. I really liked this one, and it came highly rated. Also, I love the brand name. I bought the travel size again, so I can see how it goes. It smells really nice which I always love in hair products. My hair always feels nice after I put it through, I can’t really tell if my hair is ‘thicker’ though, but I’ve only been using it for a few days.

Bare Minerals bareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer

I hadn’t heard of this brand tillย Bellaย mentioned it in a recent post. I still prefer using my BB cream for now, but since I was out of concealer, I thought I would give this one a go. It was recommended by the girl helping me in the store, and when I tried it, it looked nice. It also wasn’t too pricey which I liked. I may return later to try the original foundation.

Here’s what I got from the Pharmacy.

Maybelline The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette

I’ve been interested in getting some eyeshadow palettes for a while. I saw on Abigail‘s recent post that she had gotten the Blushed Nude palette from this collection. I found it in the store, and saw the other palettes in the collection. I really liked this one! I’ve mentioned before that nude is my preferred go-to for eyeshadow.

Simply Essential Blending Sponge

This is basically a rip off of those beauty blenders. But it does the same thing. I also just wanted one, cause it’s a purple teardrop shaped sponge. It’s fun to use this along with my brushes.

Mita Hair Brushes

I have no idea how these will go, it was a bit of a impulse buy. But I’ve only had one hairbrush since 2011, so I was due an upgrade.

Have you guys tried any of these? What have you bought recently?

  1. Maybelline’s The Nudes palette is my go to and most used, it’s really good and travel friendly as well! I think I have a Mita hairbrush that I purchased from Farmers but the plastic bobble bits on the end of the bristles are falling off ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I only purchased it last year but I do have thick hair lol

    1. I’m quite happy with The Nudes palette! There’s so many nice colours that I love using. It is really compact and travel friendly too which is a bonus!! My hair is fairly thin, and I was previously using a $2 one I’ve had since school ? so I think this is an upgrade. One day I’ll upgrade to a really good one!!

  2. Ha yasss, the UD setting spray is supposed to like really freaking good. I won one in a giveaway and I’m really excited to use it. Also, I own two of the Bare Minerals foundations, the original and the bare skin, they’re both amazing! They’re not full coverage, light to medium at best, and they look great on the skin. Your skin still looks like skin and it looks fairly natural.
And idk if you guys have Real Techniques down there, but if you do, try their miracle complexion sponge, it’s orange, and it’s sooooo good and so affordable!

    1. I really like the UD setting spray! I’m glad I got it, it was recommended highly. I really want to get the foundation, but I still have some of my previous one so I want to wait a bit. I’ve heard amazing things about it too though!
I had to buy Real Techniques brushes from overseas, but I didn’t know they have a sponge! I love their brushes, so I’m keen to try the miracle complexion sponge! I’ll have a look around for it ๐Ÿ˜€

      1. You should try asking for a sample before you purchase the full size. I’m not entirely sure where you buy your high-end makeup from, but if there’s a Sephora down there or their actual store, they often are willing to give you samples for you to try.
Definitely try it. It’s one of the best affordable sponges I’ve tried, even better than the e.l.f. one ๐Ÿ™‚

      2. I bought the travel version, I don’t think the shops we have down here often give out samples. But the travel size was super cheap and comes in a smaller bottle so I was happy to go for it ๐Ÿ˜€

  3. I haven’t tried any of those products, but I have tried a similar Maybelline eye shadow collection called Rockstar. I recently bought some NYX suede liquid lipsticks, that I am excited to wear ๐Ÿ™‚
