Late Night Thoughts

I’ve watched Youtube clips with this subject, it’s all about sharing those random thoughts that enter your head at weird times. Like when you’re lying in bed, trying to sleep, and your brain decides to just chatter at you no matter how hard you try to turn it off.

I thought I’d share with you some of the thoughts that go through my head.

  • Did I leave the door unlocked?
  • I’m cold. *pulls more blankets* Now I’m hot. *takes off blankets*. I’m cold…
  • I have to get up in ___ hours. I should sleep .
  • What should I wear tomorrow?
  • I hope the babies are all happy tomorrow. Especially since I’ll be so tired.
  • They’ll all know so much more about current technology in 20 years.
  • I wonder if we’ll get flying cars yet.
  • I wonder what our kids will look like.
  • Why is my arm itchy? Now it’s my leg.
  • Wouldn’t it be cool if hedgehogs were soft instead of spiky?
  • I should get more cactus.
  • Why aren’t I asleep?
  • I wish that streetlight would point the other way.
  • …I have to pee
  • And I’m thirsty
  • No I can fight the urges. Just go to sleep.
  • I can’t get comfortable.
  • My tongue is never comfortable in my mouth.
  • Now I can’t stop thinking about that.

And so on. These are just the ones I can recall from my half awake mind a few nights ago when I woke up at 3am and didn’t get back to sleep until maybe an hour later? Anytime I wake up during the night, it means I’m tired the whole day. I need a steady unbroken sleep to really feel fully awake, which rarely happens. But I get through the day alright. Coffee.

What late night thoughts do you guys have?

Angela.

Reacting to Old Photos

For this post, I had the random idea of scrolling through my collection of photos over the years, randomly clicking on one, and seeing if I could remember what was going on in the photo.

If I have enough fun writing this,  I may do it again another time. I have collected a lot of photos.

Let’s get into it.

1st Picture – Dated September 2008

What’s with my face?? In this period was where my sister first got her digital camera, so we would just suddenly take photos of each other, I’m thinking that’s what happened. I can see that I’m holding my ancient mp3 player. It could hold only 60 songs, and I loved it so much. I’m also holding a trash bag? As you can see, I have that same beige cardigan, it really has been with me forever. Also, it seems my sister and I have taken over the dining table with study things.

No, I don’t remember this. But according to the time stamp, I wasn’t even 1 yet. It seems we were having breakfast, and someone gave me a newspaper hat. Looks pretty good one me to be honest. We were such cute kids.

Picture 3 – December 2013

A non-me photo. I do remember taking this though! It was our last trip to Blenheim for the Christmas holidays. We always hit Rarangi beach. It’s such a gorgeous spot, so blue. I was just taking photos of everything, and Andrew was just standing there. Probably afterwards he realised what I was doing, and protested about being photographed.

Picture 4 – October 2007

I vaguely remember this. I remember the trip anyway. We went to visit Napier and Hastings with another family. It was a really fun trip, and meant a few days off school. Mum wanted a family photo, so we all posed around this statue. I ended up climbing it for whatever reason, and made that face. Now it’s on the internet forever.

Another 2007 photo. Jo loved that camera. We all did really. This would be with my church group, we went for years, and about 7 of us were similar in age, so we would all run around together. One of us was the oldest at 19 so we could leave the church and go to the nearby school’s playground. I believe this is me swinging off the monkey bars. I can see my little brother in the back in the purple hoodie.

So that’s it! This was actually really fun! I’ll probably do another one sometime, and make it another series. But I’ll space it out. Like I said, we have taken a lot of photos over the years, and they’re all backed up. I enjoy trips down memory lane 🙂

What about you guys? Do you have a lot of photos from when you were growing up?
