February Favourites

Another month gone, time for a post to share my favourites from February. Pretty much all of these are beauty products, but hey, it’s what I’m digging at the moment!

Colour Pop Double Entendre Palette

colour pop double entendre

Another ColourPop palette. I’m straight addicted. I want them all. This one is their neutral everyday palette. I have a nude every palette from Maybelline too, but I prefer this one. There’s definitely less fallout, and the colours are a lot warmer! Plus the packaging is just cuter. I’ve been wearing it everyday since I bought it a week ago.

Becca Shimmering Skin Opal Highlighter

becca highlighter

You may recognize this from the Sephora kit I bought recently. This highlighter had been on my try list for so long, and I’m so happy it didn’t disappoint. It’s so creamy and pretty, and like with the above, I’ve been wearing it everyday since I received it. I love it!

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer

tarte

Another thing on my list for ages. The formula for this is again so good! It’s not drying, and doesn’t settle into creases. It offers full coverage, covering up blemishes, uneven skin tone and brightens up my under eye. I will say though, that I got the medium shade which works well. But I sort of wish I got light medium so it brightens more as well as conceals. Plus, as my tan fades when I get into the colder seasons, it may not work as well. But that’s a problem for future Angela. Right now, I am loving this shade and this concealer!

Derma E Vitamin C Concentrated Serum

derma e vitamin c

I got a sample size from a subsciption box last year. I loved it! It smelt delicious and did help to brighten my skin after continued use. I was sad when it ran out and decided to try other products. However, this has been in the back of my mind still, so eventually I caved and bought a full size. I am so happy I did, and use it everyday!

Oasis Water Bottle

water bottle

The only non beauty product. But I’ve been loving this all summer really. It’s important to stay hydrated, but obviously even more when it’s hot. I go through at least two bottles a day, sometimes more as I keep up with doing exercises in the evening. Lately,  I’ve been preferring doing yoga. It’s just too hard to keep doing a high-intensity workout with it so hot. Also, this is the type of water bottle that keeps cold water cold, which is my preferred form of water.

feb favourites

I also thought I’d like to include five of my favourite posts from this past month!

diy - element jars

The cutest DIY I’ve seen on Pinterest! I had a lot of fun creating these.

lipstick collection

Sharing my current lipstick collection. I have a lot of nude colours, but a few pops of bright colours here and there!

Talking about some places I haven’t yet been to in my own backyard. Spoiler alert, they’re all beautiful!

Weighing in on the conversation of whether to take photos with your phone, or a DSLR.

Another beauty post, but this time I try out a sephora kit, which took forever to get!

Anyway, that’s what I’ve been loving this month! Have you tried any of these products? What’s something you’ve been loving this month?

February Photos

Sharing my favourite photos from the last month.

Food

  • Top left are gummies that showed up at my work. They were all so cute, and I had to take a photo of my coke and hotdog gummy before devouring them.
  • Top right is my incredible pancakes from Jackson Street Cafe & Bistro
  • The middle three are from my dinner out with Rory at La Bella Italia. The drinks, main course and dessert were all incredible!
  • The last two are my baking posts for the month! The Chocolate Heart Cupcakes, and Petri Dish Jellies!

Makeup

As always, I love playing with makeup then taking selfies. It’s my thing. You can really tell what’s my go-to pose. Head tilted, looking down, and a little smile. What can I say? It never lets me down ;D

I’ve been trying to experiment more with eyeshadows and trying do that cut crease thing. It’s a work in progress.

Miscellaneous

  • Did you know, that cats are drawn to Rory? No matter where we go, if there’s a cat, they’ll go to him and ignore me. I’m always offended. The pictures in the top row of us at the cat cafe prove this fact.
  • The last one on the top row is a candid I took of him at La Bella Italia which I just like.
  • I also tried a new bath bomb from Lush, it was the Sex Bomb. It was already really warm as we’re in summer, and I put it in really hot water. I made our bathroom into a sauna. It was actually pretty nice.
  • While walking through town on my break, I came across decorative lanterns for the Lunar New Year celebrations. They were really bright!
  • Finally, two pictures I took for blog posts that I really loved made it in here. One from my Lipstick Collection, and the other is the element jars I made.

Those are all my favourite photos from this month! I quite like doing this post, it’s nice to do a bit of a photo dump here haha!

What’s something you took photos of this month?

Let’s Bake! (Petri Dish Jellies Edition)

So this isn’t technically baking, but I like keeping the title of the series. This was one of the easier creations from Nerdy Nummies, so last weekend, I decided to give it a go.

I ordered Petri dishes from Amazon, as that was the one part I didn’t have. The concept seemed easy enough, fill the dishes with jelly and get creative with the lollies on top to make it look like ‘bacteria’.

petri dishes 01

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Jelly in different flavours (strawberry, blueberry, lemon, orange and lime) – with mine though, I only used blueberry and lemon, otherwise you get too much jelly. I used food colouring to get the different colours.
  • Lollies
  • Petri Dishes

petri dishes 02

That’s pretty much it!

Pour the jelly crystals into a heatproof bowl. Add one cup hot water and mix. Add one cup cold water and mix again. I poured some into separate bowls and made different colours. Then, I added them to the petri dishes!

petri dishes 03

I filled them up around two-thirds of the way and put them in the fridge. Let them set for an hour, before taking them back out to put in the lollies.

petri dishes 04

I just had fun with setting up the lollies. I tried to pick lollies that I thought would look more like ‘bacteria’. It was so much fun placing them all in the jelly. Once I was done, I put them back in the fridge to set even more.

petri dishes 05

That’s it! Another hour later, we were able to dig into them! I made 20, so there was quite a lot of jelly in the fridge. In the end I only used two boxes of jelly, so we still have three for a later date. I do recommend using food colouring instead of making five boxes of jelly. Cause then you have waaay too much! That all being said, I love how these came out! They’re so colourful and cute, and a little creepy!

petri dishes 06

petri dishes 07

I’d say they would be perfect for a kids birthday party! It’s nice to come home and have a little treat waiting in the fridge too 😀

petri dishes 08

When’s the last time you had jelly?

Boudoir Experience

It all started with reading some fellow bloggers’ posts about their own Boudoir Experience. They reminded me that I’d considered doing this before the wedding, and that the idea still appealed. So, I started looking around at photographers in my city who did boudoir photography.

I knew I wanted to go with a female photographer as I was more comfortable with that. I looked through some photographers’ sites, looking at their portfolio and testimonials. Finally, I landed on A Beautiful Photo. This is run by Victoria Vincent, who does portrait, lifestyle and commercial photography. However, she says that her passion is boudoir and beauty photography. On her site, the first step to this is meeting up for a coffee catch up. Where you can chat more about why you might want to do a boudoir shoot, share ideas, and she’ll explain more about what you can expect. So that’s what I did. I sent off an email, and we met up later that week.

a beautiful photo site

Victoria was friendly and open from the get go. She made me feel at ease, got me a drink, and we sat down and had a chat at her office. She had a few albums I could look through while she talked about what I could expect at the boudoir shoot. Hair and makeup was part of the deal, and she’s happy to go to the client’s house and do a photoshoot there. It was really nice talking with her, and it’s clear that she was a professional and just passionate about what she does. She gave me some tips about how I could prepare myself for the shoot, as well as what colours work best with her style of photography (black and deep red, which are pretty classic colours). We talked for ages, and I decided that I wanted to do this. So we chose a date that worked for both of us, set up payment, and there was nothing to do but wait!

boudoir experience

The week before the shoot, I tried to remember to drink even more water. I was more careful with my skin care routine than I normally am. The weekend before, I even went out to a few lingerie stores and shopped around a little. It was all a lot of fun and got me even more excited for the shoot. Finally, the day came!

I was a frazzle of nerves as I waited for Victoria and her makeup artist to arrive. I’ve since blanked on the lovely hair and makeup artist’s name, and I lost her card! I feel so bad, but like I said, I was a basket of nerves, and can’t find where I put her card! Anyway, they both were friendly and chatty, and seemed unbothered by my nerves. They kept talking to me, getting me at ease, and by the time my hair and makeup were done, I was feeling a lot better.

makeup selfie

When it came time for the shoot, we started with some beauty portraits first. So I was in a dress, and standing against a black backdrop that Victoria brought. This was when I got my first taste of posing. Victoria encouraged me, helped make me feel relaxed, and even got a few genuine laughs out of me, as she directed me how to stand, where to put my arms etc. It was actually nice to be told what to do, as otherwise I would have just stood there at a loss. Once we were happy with these, we moved on to the main event.

The more the shoot went on, the more comfortable I was. Mentally anyway, there were some poses from inspiration photos that Victoria or I wanted to do. We actually managed to do quite a few of them. Maybe that yoga I’ve been doing is slowly helping. We didn’t do anything crazy, but I’m kind of looking forward to seeing the photos! Plus, I felt pretty good and kinda sultry in my ‘outfits’. I put them in quotation marks, as I don’t think you can really call them outfits. Time flew by pretty fast, and before I knew it, three hours had gone by and Victoria was saying that she was really happy with all the different shots she had. She asked if there was anything else I wanted to do, but I realized I was starting to lose energy, and I trusted that we had a lot to work with haha!

lingerie bag and shoes

All in all, I looooved the experience, and it was definitely pretty empowering. I would consider doing it again at another time, and maybe even being a little more daring. For my first ever time though, I had so much fun! I cannot wait to see the photos in a few weeks! If you guys have the opportunity to do something like this, go for it!

This was a bit rambly, but that’s how I roll! Have you guys ever done a boudoir shoot?

Angela.

Books 1-5 (2018 Reading Challenge)

1) Playing For Keeps by R.L. Mathewson

11381643

I started this on December 31, and finished it on January 2. I was looking for some light chick-lit to read over the holidays, and this is what I landed on.

I’ve read my fair share of chick-lit and contemporary romance, but I liked this one a lot more than I thought I would. It’s funny, silly, and perfect light summer reading. I breezed through it in under a week, while just lying in my backyard and trying not to fall asleep in the sun.

I rated it 4 stars. Chick-lit is a fun genre, I like to pick it up every now and then. It’s light and easy to read. Perfect light reading, but I don’t think I’d ever pick it up again.

2) The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

32075671

I read this from January 1 to January 9. It was recommended to me by Goodreads.

I have so many thoughts about this book. My mind was just swirling thoughts, and I went through so many emotions. The main character, Starr, is written so well. Her character goes through so much, and like the quote says, her voice is her weapon in this situation. This is one of those books that you have to read, it’s so relevant in this current time, and so well-written.

I rated it 5 stars. It was a really powerful read, and at times, I felt the need to put it down just to process what was happening.

3) Talking As Fast As I Can by Lauren Graham

30253864

I read this from January 9 to January 16. Another book that was recommended to me from Goodreads.

I’m a huge fan of Lauren Graham. Mostly because of Gilmore Girls. I love that show, and the more I ‘researched’ into Lauren Graham, the more I was convinced she really was Lorelei in real life. A big part of the book talks about her time during Gilmore Girls, including the revival, so that alone made me love the book. The rest were anecdotal little stories and advice, that just made me happy. The book is fighting for the spot of my favourite biography, alongside Amy Poehler’s Yes Please.

I rated 5 stars. Lauren Graham is awesome! I still pick it up every now and then to read snippets, just for a pick me up!

4) One Of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus

32571395

I read this from January 17- 19. I’d heard about this through other blogger’s recommendation.

I had seen this book floating around, and after reading about the general plot, I was intrigued. It’s like The Breakfast Club but with murder. The book is written well, it’s fun, easy to read, but still filled with intrigue. The books jump perspectives from each of the four main characters. I love that the characters are each given time to grow, and to see what’s happening. As the story went on, the twists kept coming, and I couldn’t put the book down.

I rated 5 stars. Any book that is almost read in one day, will be given a 5 star rating. I was so hooked! I hope she does another book, as I would love to read more from her.

5) Astrophysics for People in A Hurry by Neil DeGrasse Tyson

32191710

This took me the longest out of the five books. I read it from January 19, and finished it a month later on February 19.

I love Neil deGrasse Tyson in general, he’s cool. Space and the universe in general fascinates me, but it also confuses me. In this book, Neil discusses things from the Big Bang to black holes, from quarks to quantum mechanics, and from the search for planets to the search for life in the universe. It was a lot to process for me, and I had to read parts multiple times. I’ve read it once, but I think I’ll need to read it a few more times to really start to wrap my head around this. If you have a love of Astrophysics, definitely give this a read!

I rated this 4 stars. Don’t get me wrong,  I loved this book. But it’s just hard for me to wrap my head around, so I can’t give it that perfect 5 star rating.

Those are the first five books I’ve read as part of the 2018 Reading Challenge. My end goal is 30 books, so I’m already well on the way!

Have you read any of these books? What books have you read lately?

Angela.

10×10 Challenge Completed! (Summer Edition)

If you haven’t read this post, let me explain what this is about real quick. I saw a post by Meg, who did this 10×10 Styling Challenge, created by Style Bee. Basically, you choose 10 items out of your wardrobe, and for the next 10 days, your outfits can only come from the 10 items. The rules aren’t too hard and fast, but I decided not to wear the same outfit twice, as that seemed to defeat the purpose of this challenge.

As a refresher, here are my 10 items.

So, here’s my 10 outfits I came up with!

Monday – Outfit #1

I started off with my floral dress as it was a sunny day. Also, a dress is pretty much an outfit on it’s own, and I wasn’t feeling the most inspired this Monday morning. That being said, wearing this dress tends to cheer me up. It’s floaty and sweet, and I paired it with my comfy flats (again Mondays). I took this picture before work (still kinda tired tbh), as I normally tie my hair back in some way at work. Babies like grabbing hair.

Tuesday – Outfit #2

Another warm day, so I put together an official outfit. T-Shirt, Shorts and Sandals are comfy and perfect for another hot day. This was taken after work, and I’m not quite sure what I’m doing, but I kinda liked this picture.

Wednesday – Outfit #3

Today was Valentine’s day! I put my hair in a braid rather than a ponytail to be a teensy bit more festive. I wore my floral singlet, harem pants and also a grey cardi. It was cooler in the morning, but by mid afternoon I had to take it off as it got really hot again. This was the also comfiest outfit I’ve had so far, I love these pants 😀

Thursday – Outfit #4

I was feeling kind of lazy on Thursday, as you do. So I wore almost the same outfit as Wednesday, except I threw on my Superdry shirt instead. Still counts right! Plus, I left my hair down (which was a mistake as it was windy today).

Friday – Outfit #5

It was a little cooler today, and by that I mean it was cloudy instead of just sunny. So I decided I could wear my sweater. There haven’t been too many days where I could wear that, as I would just get to hot. But, paired with shorts and sandals, it was okay. I also wore a necklace today just for fun! It’s my little owl one, the kids are fascinated by it.

Saturday – Outfit #6

The weekend! Saturday was a fairly busy day for us. We were out for almost the whole day, driving here and there. We also decided to eat out for dinner which we haven’t done since last year. We normally get takeout. We went to a little Italian place and the food was so goood! I’m happy with my outfit choice. I love this floral dress, and since it was a bit cloudy, I could bring out my trusty cardigan for an added layer. I also wore contacts for a change, cause I wasn’t too lazy.

Sunday – Outfit #7

It only now occurs to me that I’m derping in this picture, but too bad. It’s staying. Another sunny weekend day. A bit warmer than before, so out came my combo of singlet, shorts and sandals. I did have to check that I hadn’t worn this combo before, but I have been keeping track of the combos in a notebook, and I was safe. Also, I like pairing something floaty with something a little more fitted. I also realized that I’ve been wearing these sandals for a few days in a row, but they’re so comfy!!

Monday – Outfit #8

Still a warm day, but with lots of clouds. Pairing my cardi, with my stripy singlet and shorts proved to be a good mix. Since it was slightly cooler, my cardi helped keep me warm, but since I was in shorts, I wasn’t too warm. Also, this is comfy to move around in all day, as working with little kids and babies, you tend to prefer comfort over style.

Tuesday – Outfit #9

There was a decent bit of rain today, so I actually wore boots today, but for the sake of the challenge, I put on the black flats, which was my original shoes I was going to wear. I wanted to wear my floral dress one more time, but I wanted it to look different. So, since there was rain and it was a bit cooler, I threw my sweater on top. I’m not quite sure what I thought of this outfit. It seems a bit too preppy, but hey, I was super comfy in it!

Wednesday – Outfit #10

I was trying to think of what I hadn’t worn together at this point. It was a little warmer, so I didn’t want to have too many layers. Black and white is always a good mix, so I wore my stripy singlet with harem pants. I wore my yellow sandals just for a pop of colour.

There you have it! My first ever outfit challenge completed! I actually had a lot of fun putting this together, that I’m planning on doing this challenge seasonally. Otherwise, I’d just keep using the same 10 items. I recommend giving this a go, even if you only do it for 5 days instead of 10. It definitely helped me to mix and match more, rather than wearing the same thing everyday to work, like I sometimes do. But hey, the kids do it too 😛

Which was your favourite outfit? Mine’s a three way tie between 5, 6, and 7.

Angela.

Thoughts on “The Room”

So I watched The Room recently. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s developed a cult status as being the worst movie of all time. I first heard of it a few years back, when Sarah told me about it. We watched some clips on Youtube, and it was really weird. But I figured it’s cause the scenes were out of context, and that made them weirder. Well I finally watched it recently. It’s just weird..and uncomfortable…and slightly sinister. It’s taken me a week to wrap my head around it and get around to writing this post.

The person who made this movie is someone called Tommy Wiseau. He self funded this film (the budget was $6 million, and it only made like $1000 in its opening weekend), directed, wrote, produced and starred in this strange film. This dude is somewhat of an enigma, and no one know anything about him, not even his age or where he came from. But I found this out after watching the movie.

Image result for tommy wiseau gif

So, let’s get into my thoughts on the film.

“Why” came out my mouth a lot. Things just didn’t make sense. There were a few sex scenes, which were awkward and way too long. There were three in the first 30 minutes, and they actually used the same footage in two of them.

Image result for tommy wiseau gif

Plot lines came and go so fast that I couldn’t keep up with them. In one scene, the mother announces she has breast cancer, and all Lisa says is “Don’t worry about it” (which actually, everyone says a lot), and nobody ever mentions it again. Then, there was a scene where a guy with a gun threatens Danny with a gun asking about his money. You never hear from him again, and no one talks about this happening for the rest of the movie.

They throw around a football a lot. I don’t know why. One guy comes in with a football and then they start throwing it back and forth. There’s lots of laughing, then someone falls over, and everyone rushes over and asks if he’s okay. Then it’s the next scene. This happens twice.

Image result for the room football

Image result for the room football

Also, the way everyone speaks is so bland and odd.

I permanently had a confused face for the whole duration of the movie. Rory was with me, and he thought the movie seemed sinister. We couldn’t put our finger on it, but there was just watching this movie made for a really weird atmosphere. Am I glad I watched it? I don’t know. But it was definitely an experience. I’m now more involved with this now that I know The Disaster Artist has been made into a movie. It’s based on the book by Greg Senastra who worked on The Room alongside Tommy. I’m reading it, and getting more confused about the mystery that is Tommy Wiseau and The Room.

Have you guys seen The Room? If you have, I’m sorry. If you haven’t…well it’s interesting..

How Do You Measure a Year?

I sometimes like to peruse Reddit, and one of my favourite subreddits to read is AskReddit. It’s a great way to kill some time. It has also led to some long car conversations when me and Rory are stuck in traffic. So, get ready for a rambly kind of post. One question that caught my attention last week was “In your mind, how do you measure a year?”

My first thought, was that song from Rent. The one with 525,600 minutes.

Then, I started thinking about it more. It’s definitely an interesting concept, and I loved reading all the answers. Some viewed it in seasons, others said they saw it via school/college semesters, while others saw it through a series of events. One person said that as a child, they thought it was weird when parents were talking about an event and couldn’t remember what year it was. That seems like something you should know immediately right? But even now, I find myself struggling to remember what year that particular thing happened.

I realized that I measure a year by a combination of seasons, holidays and events. If there’s anything that stands out, like a holiday or whatever, then that helps to make that year more memorable. I’m someone who likes to remember dates. When it comes to my relationship with Rory, I know the first date we met, went out, first kiss, all that. However, with Rory these dates are more mixed up. Is that a girl/boy thing? We both know the big dates though, like birthdays and official anniversaries. Also, when I asked Rory this question, he said he doesn’t really measure a year in his head. Events stand out, but after a while, they all just start to mix together.

Another thought I had, is for school years. Down here, our summer holidays fall in December to February. So the school year starts in February, and ends around December. However, those of you guys in the other side of the world,  a school year starts in September and ends in around July right? That has always confused me, cause your school year is technically crossing over into two years. But again, it’d be something you guys are used to, like having Christmas in winter.

Random tangent aside, I’m curious about your thoughts. How do you measure a year? By seasons, events, school, holidays, by the traditional months and days? When you think of a year in your life, how does it roll around in your head? Chronologically? Does it jump around? Do these questions just confuse you? Let me know!

Sephora Favourites – First Impressions of the Selfie Kit (+2700 followers!)

First of all, I want to say thanks again to Sarah from Vintage Tea Rose! Without her, this post wouldn’t have happened. There is an online store for Sephora, but they don’t have nearly as much stuff as the US store. When I first saw this kit, I was all set to buy it, till I realized that I was looking at the US site, and not NZ. I really wanted it and so my solution was to ask Sarah to be my go between. I ordered it online and shipped it to Sarah’s place in the UK, who then shipped it to me. Fun fact, after I placed the order, my bank called me to clarify it was me who placed the order on my credit card and not someone else, which had never happened before. So all in all, it took a lot to get this kit, and I’m so glad I finally have it!

closed box

open box

So this kit is advertised as “A multibranded sampler set of essentials to help achieve your best selfie.” It comes with one full size, and five deluxe sized products, and in my little bit of research, all the brands are cruelty free! The kit costs $28USD, but all the stuff you get apparently is worth $100USD. I viewed it like a subscription box full of goodies, which is what I got.

sephora favourites

Here’s what it comes with:

  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Ashton
  • Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Opal
  • Marc Jacobs Beauty Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara in Noir
  • Milk Makeup Blur Stick
  • Stellar Cosmic Face Powder Glow 02
  • Tarte Tarteist Double Take Eyeliner in Black

I’ve had a play around with it all this past weekend, so I thought I’d share my first impressions on these products with you guys!

sephora selfie

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Ashton

anastasia lipstick

anastasia lipstick swatch

I really like the packaging for this. The little gold band with the pattern just looks really cute. On swatching this, the colour was really vibrant and pigmented. Ashton is a midton yellow brown colour. On me, it was quite a dark brown/red shade. When I applied it on my lips, it felt a little drying after a while. I often have lip balm on underneath, but even with that, my lips kept feeling dry. The colour stayed bright though. However, I didn’t wear it for long so I don’t really know how transfer proof or long lasting it is. That being said, even though I only had it on for half an hour, it took forever to come off. So I’m guessing, it may be pretty long lasting.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Opal

becca highlighter

becca highlighter swatch

So this is a product I’d been wanting to try for a while. As far as highlighters go, this one was hyped up a lot and best described as a cult favourite. The packaging is in a cute little compact, with a mirror. I love when things come with a mirror, as a random sidenote. Anyway, I swatched it with just one swipe, and I love how it came out. It’s pigmented, creamy, shimmery and goes really well with my skin tone. I’m so happy I finally get to try this highlighter!

Marc Jacobs Beauty Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara in Noir

marc jacobs mascara

I already actually have this mascara. I received a full size in a previous subscription box. This has been showing up everywhere lately though. I still like this mascara, it does offer a lot of volume. But to be honest, so do a lot of other mascaras. I still prefer my Tarte and Too Faced Mascaras, it just comes down to preference.

Milk Makeup Blur Stick

milk blur stick

So this little tube confuses me. I had no idea what it was or what to do with it, so I looked it up. It’s meant to act like a primer. You apply it all over your face before foundation and it’s supposed to make it last longer and give you a smoother application. Well I used it before applying foundation, but I couldn’t tell if it did anything. I looked up general reviews of this on Sephora, and no-one seems to really like it. I’m not quite sure why it’s included, but I probably will stick with my regular primer.

Stellar Cosmic Face Powder in Glow 02

stellar powder

I have a Tarte and Rimmel finishing powder, but I don’t use them that often. I’m still not really sure what it’s meant to do. But powders are fun to play with, so I had a play. My previous powders are translucent, but this one is in Glow. I did note that it was quite a warm colour, so I don’t think it’d work too well on pale skin. With me, I made sure to use a light hand and it looked quite nice.

Tarte Tarteist Double Take Eyeliner in Black

I am a huge fan of Tarte in general. I have many of their products already, including a creamy eye pencil, the Sex Kitten Eyeliner, but I’d been wanting to try a liquid liner from them. This eyeliner is double-sided. It has a liquid liner on one end, and a pencil on the other. The liquid liner goes on so smoothly and once it’s fully dried, it’s not going anywhere. The pencil also glides on smoothly, and is pretty much the same as the Sex Kitten one. I’m really happy with both of them, and will continue to use them in my quest to try figure out better my eyeliner skills.

In these photos, I’ve tried on all the products. I did the teensiest wing with my liquid liner, as I was terrified of messing it up. I also did a purple/brown mix for my eyeshadow to try match the lipstick. I’m pretty happy with how it all came together. I took off the lipstick after a while cause like I said, my lips felt dry. I changed it for more of a neutral colour and that was my makeup for the rest of the day!

All in all, I’m really happy with this little kit. I’ve been eyeing up some of the other Sephora kits, but I also need to focus on saving, so I may save them for a later date!

Have you guys tried any of these products?

As always, I like to celebrate every milestone my blog hits! I hope it’s not getting annoying each time I mention it, but as someone who started with no intentions of her blog being seen or read at all, I’m still so proud of how my blog continues to grow! You guys are all amazing!!

Angela.
