I’ve recently bought a few more lipsticks, as I have been having fun expanding my collection. I’m trying not to go too crazy, but I like having some choices! Nudes are still my go to, but I’m slowly expanding my collection to include a few reds, but that’s about it. Nothing too crazy yet.
Anyway, I love doing these collection posts, and now that I have a decent amount of lipsticks, I thought it would be time to share them all with you.
Currently, I have three lipsticks, the other eight are liquid lipsticks.
From left to right, I have a lipstick from Honest Beauty, MAC and Clinique.
Honest Beauty Truly Kissable Lip Crayon in Sheer Chestnut
I got this from a subscription box last year, and it’s still one of my favourites. I’d never seen a lip crayon before, but I prefer it to a lipstick. I can line it quite well without having to use a liner. The formula of this lipstick is really nice. It moisturizes my lips while putting it on, and dries fast. It’s got quite a sheen, but I really like that. It’s an orange/red colour, and one of my go-to’s.
MAC in Kittenish
One of my newer lipsticks. I’d been wanting to try a MAC lipstick, and decided to get one out of my normal range. This one is quite pink, but not too bright. I don’t like the formula as much as Honest Beauty, but the colour comes off really nice after one coat which is cool. Again, with the lip crayon, I don’t feel like I need to add a liner, as I can apply it precisely. I’m still making up my mind about how much I like this one.
Clinique Pop Lip + Primer in Nude
This is another subscription box lipstick, and has been with me the longest out of my current collection. It’s a mixture between nude and pink. It’s the one I wore at my wedding. The formula is so moisturizing, dries matte and doesn’t smudge. I would be interested to try this lipstick in other colours.
As for my liquid lipsticks, I have eight now.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in London
My new favourite nude lipstick. This time, it has more of a brown/nude colour. I really like how it looks with my skin tone. I normally wear this everyday, as it really suits the ‘natural’ look. As I’ve mentioned before, I love the formula of this lipstick! It’s more creamy than liquid, but once you apply it, it dries matte almost immediately. It’s not too long-lasting, and you do have to reapply during the day. Otherwise, it’s perfect!
Tarte Tarteist Lip Paint
I got this in my Tarte Treasure Box. This is a much darker colour than I normally use. It’s more of a purple/plum colour. I’ve really grown to love it though. Applying it is tricky though. The formula is quite nice, but I do have to moisturize my lips quite a bit otherwise when the lipstick dries, it settles into my cracked lips. Also it’s a darker colour, if I don’t line it correctly, it’s pretty obvious. But the extra effort of putting it on is worth it.
NYX Lip Lingerie Minis
I got six of these little minis on a whim. They’re all nude-ish colours so I figured it’d be fun. I will say though, that I’m not the greatest fan of the formula. Unlike the soft matte, they don’t dry straight away, and my lips feel sticky for a while afterwards. They also smudge like crazy while they’re still wet. That being said, I do like a lot of these colours, but I still prefer my other NYX lipstick.
Lace Detail and Dusk to Dawn
Lace Detail was a bit more of a purple nude, while Dusk to Dawn was more or a orange/brown nude. I like the Lace Detail, as it seems like more of a laidback version of my Tarte lipstick. Dusk to Dawn was an interesting colour on me. I feel like it didn’t quite suit me, but that could just be personal opinion.
Bedtime Flirt and Satin Ribbon
Bedtime Flirt reminded me of Lace Detail a little, but toned down. I really liked the colour. I’m not a fan of Satin Ribbon though. It was more of a pale pink colour, which I don’t think works on me.
Push Up and Bustier
Push Up was an interesting colour, I couldn’t quite decide what nude colour it was. It’s not too bad though. Finally, Bustier, was a surprise. It’s definitely got a lot more purple undertones than the others, but it grew on me really fast! It’s more of an experimental look than the other ones, but I’m willing to work with it.
That’s all for my lipstick collection. Have you guys tried any of these? What lipstick is your favourite?
Angela.
