If We Were Having Hot Chocolate

I haven’t been into coffee too much lately. Hot Chocolate has been a pretty good choice. So that’s what I’ll be having in this catch-up post.

If we were having hot chocolate, I’d talk about blogging. I have put a lot of myself into my blog, and I do love it, but most days it still feels like a lot of effort. I post a few times a week, but even with that I have a hard time coming up with ideas. I’m often quite tired after work, and I no longer have the energy to keep up with everyone else’s blog which I’m sad about. I don’t know if this feeling is going around much with others, but if it does…let me know. It’s such a strange mindset for something that I used to be so passionate about.

If we were having hot chocolate, now that I’ve got those thoughts out, I’d talk about spring. It feels like it’s so close now. We’re over the hump of winter, the sun is out for longer, and we’ve had some pretty warm days. It seems to be arriving early this year, which makes me wonder if we’re due for another really hot summer. I know you guys on the other side of the world are having a pretty intense summer. Hopefully it’s starting to cool down a little!

If we were having hot chocolate, I would mention that I’ve been addicted to these simulation apps. Specifically The Sims Free Play, and Sim City. I was very into them when they first came out, and then I got bored and stopped for years. Recently, I found my tablet again, and got back into it. It takes up way more of my time than it probably should. I can’t help it though. I love those simulation games. They give achievements, you finish quests, etc. It’s addictive! Let me know what apps or games you’re into at the moment.

If we were having hot chocolate, I’d ask how things are going with you. What are your thoughts about blogging at the moment?

Angela.

    1. That may be true. I do like my new schedule of three times a week, but sometimes i just dont feel up to it. Like you said, it is just a hobby though. It’s okay to step back from it 🙂

  1. I completely understand how you’re feeling with your blog right now Angela! I still love blogging and interacting with other bloggers but sometimes it’s so much effort after a long day. I reduced my blogging schedule to two posts a day and even at that it feels like a lot sometimes. I think part of it is that because it’s summer I just want to be outside!
I hope you’ll be able to fall back in love with blogging, maybe you just need to take a week off to recharge?

    1. I’m glad you can relate Cleia! I’ve been getting really tired by the end of the day that I dont feel like blogging which is a bummer. Maybe I am due another break, or scaling back a little again 🙂 enjoy your summer!!

  2. You’re entitled to a break from blogging. Writers block happens, maybe take time to relax and enjoy something different. You’ll find your muse again. I’m a hot chocolate fanatic, (I don’t drink coffee 😣). We’re about to enter into fall soon, seems it’s here already. We’ve been having lots of rainy days, cool days, and the sun seems to be hiding.
🙏🏼 I pray God is in control because this is weird. Soon I may have too wear sweaters, boots, and drink hot cocoa. My blogging has been a challenge, since I’m fasting. I have to go back to my regiment to get my mind in focus. Hope you find inspiration soon! 🙂

    1. I’m glad you can relate! Trying to find energy to blog after a full day or week of work gets really difficult! Blogging when you can is a good way to go to kwwp yourself from getting overwhelmed 🙂

  3. First I LOVE that picture! Nothing beats the nostalgia of hot chocolate during the winter! And huge hugs. I have been blogging off and on for over fifteen years. It was only the last four that I really put the effort into it, and even now I feel like I go through phases or get overwhelmed. It is normal and you can’t beat yourself up about it beauty. You will find that passion again or maybe you will find a new one:) Huge hugs ❤

  4. I love the hot cocoa idea . And Angela, that is TOTALLY normal… I think we all go through blogging seasons like that. I remember there were days where I couldn’t wait to get on and read blogs and others where it just didn’t sound quite as appealing. There are seasons for everything- and just like we ebb and flow so does our our little blog life too ❤ Thanks for sharing and being so honest!

    1. That is really true! I’m glad to know that there’s others who can relate. It does go up and down, but I still always come back to it so there must be something there! Thank you so much for reading and commenting 🙂

  5. Hot chocolate is better than coffee anyway haha! 😛 Don’t feel you have to blog three times a week or have to blog every week, it’s ok to take breaks now and again. Coming up with post ideas can be hard sometimes. Maybe you’re felling tired due to the end of winter and once spring comes you’ll feel more energetic and have post ideas again! On the whole I don’t think blogging is as popular as it was 2-3 years ago and a lot of people microblog on Snapchat and Instagram because it’s quicker and less time consuming to prepare.

    1. Haha, I definitely agree lately! I do sometimes build up this sense of obligation with my blog, that I have to upload a few times every week. I’m not sure why, but it is starting to wear thin. I will partially blame the season for that haha!

      1. Sounds very normal particularly when you been blogging a lot. I think you should keep on blogging and just think of it more like a marathon than a sprint 🙂👍 You have a lot of great posts!

  6. Inspiration and motivation for blogging comes and goes with all of us, it’s totally normal! It’s your hobby and if you feel like you need to cut back, that’s absolutely your prerogative! ❤ I wonder if perhaps it's partly due to the dullness of winter, though. Winter blues can affect people in lots of different ways, especially creativity.
Also, I love the hot chocolate idea! Hot chocolate is simply the perfect wintery drink. ❤

    1. I do blame the winter blues a little. The drearineas starts to get old after a while haha! It is a bit of a rollercoaster with motivation and inspiration. I hope I’ll get more into an upswing later 🙂

  7. I’m pretty much the same with blog right now. The good thing is that I had some posts that I prepared long time ago, so those are the ones that I scheduled for new content. I think that whole blogging world died a little bit, it’s not interactive as before and most people don’t really post as they used to. Maybe that’s the reason why most of us are not that motivated and excited for blogging. xx

    1. I agree. I feel like this time last year we had such a big and active community. It was so much fun blogging and I always felt so inspired. Over time it has dwindled a bit. I definitely want to keep blogging, but it is a bit unfortunate that our community has somewhat faded away

  8. Love Sims! Also, I know how you’re feeling right now. I’m working 6 days a week at the moment and on my only day off I want to spend time with family and sleep, so I was thinking about just packing it in. Especially when I read somewhere on a blog that someone who I’m pretty good blogger friends with said if you can’t stick to your blogging schedule you’re obviously not serious about your blog. But I’m so tired and sometimes have no ideas or even if I do I just have no time.

But the one thing that makes me not want to stop is actually the friends I’ve made through blogging, like yourself!

    1. That’s definitely intense! Blogging is still a job on itself, so trying to balance it woth your real life and real job can get overwhelming. I do think it’s a little unfair to say you don’t care about ypur blog if you cant keep up the schedule. Life happens and sometimes you need a break.
I really agree with you though. The main reason i keep coming back to blogging is because of all the amazing people I’ve met through it! Just like you 🤗

  9. I’ve definitely been feeling the same towards blogging. Often I don’t read other’s blog posts until after a week and I feel bad about that. And I had to scale back to two times a week but I also have to worry about ideas then. Its tough!

  10. Sorry to hear that you have a hit a slump in blogging!! I’m quite lucky in that I don’t have to really think up blog post ideas and just blog about events and places I’ve been so I do admire bloggers who make up new content to upload to their blog a lot!! I’m still finding it weird that while you are nearly into spring we are heading towards autumn. I don’t think I’m ready for it to go cold again after how hot and lovely this summer was for the most part!! Xx

  11. Blogging? What’s that?? 😂 I mean, I’ve been a negligent blogger for about a year now. And to think I used to publish 2/3 times a day when I had the time. I wish I could still do it, honestly. I love it and miss it. I never had a schedule or a plan. I’m an impulsive blogger. I wrote that much because I had the time and because it was one of my top priorities at the time. Starting my blog was one of the best things I ever did and it helped me in ways I can’t even begin to tell you. I know I’m not even close to being done with my blog and that I have big plans for my little corner of the internet. I feel my blogging mojo coming back! ❤️❤️❤️

Hot chocolate sounds wonderful, I can’t wait for Fall. It’s still so hot here and Summer mode might be on for another month or so, as it has been for the past few years.

    1. Glad to hear you may be getting you blogging mojo back 🙂
It’s definitely something I couldn’t imagine giving up on completely. But i should maybe be less strict on myself with my planning around it 🙂

  12. I hope you get your mojo back! I’ve been really struggling too as you know. And I love the Sims, although I’ve never got into playing it on my phone, but on the computer I can waste hours messing about! 🙂
