So I finished the A-Z Challenge last week. I started it all the way back in early April and posted on this twice a week till mid-July. I had so much fun trying to think of what shows to recommend for each letter of the alphabet. As a wrap up post, I’m going to list all the shows I talked about!
Day 17 – The Best Movie You Saw During the Last Year
So I saw this twice in the theatre. That’s how much I liked it. I was vaguely aware of it when it came out as kids in my centre started talking about it. I looked up a few songs and I was hooked.
I have heard this countless times and I still love it. I also love Alessia Cara’s version too!
Then I went and saw the movies and felt so many emotions. I don’t know why it made me feel all the things, but it did. I even cried in it. I have since watched it a few more times and I love to sing along. I still hear the songs in my centre every now and then, and honestly I sing as loud as the kids do. Even the babies love it 🙂
I feel like I talk about animations a lot, but I can’t help it. They’re so good, and I watch a lot of them.
Have you guys seen Moana?
What’s the best movie you’ve seen during the last year?
You guys will know by now that I am a huge fan of animation. I have watched countless Disney and Pixar films, and it’s always hard for me to narrow down favourites. However, The Incredibles is definitely up there. It combines both my love of animation and superhero!
This animation takes place in a world where superheros are a given. It’s not important how they got their powers, but they just have them and they save the world. After an incident, they’re forced into hiding and to lead ‘normal’ lives. We follow the adventures of the Incredibles family, where the parents were superheros, and now their kids have powers too. Just seriously watch the film! Its so funny and amazing!
This movie technically makes me happy too, no film comes to mind that only brings up sad emotions. A lot of the movies that make me happy also have sad moments. For example, Toy Story 3.
I really enjoyed the first two Toy Story’s, and watched them so many times over and over on DVD. As someone who was very attached to her toys, had an overactive imagination which led to my toys going on various adventures, I really liked the idea of toys being alive. The moment that made me cry was not the end, but that scene in the garbage incinerator.
You guys who have seen this movie will know what I’m talking about.
When they held hands..
So yeah, this is a movie that makes me sad.
Have you guys seen Toy Story 3? Did you get hit with the feels?
A lot of movies make me happy, the first ones that came to mind where all animations, funnily enough. But Wall-E will always have a special place in my heart, cause it’s just so gosh darn cute!!
Wall-E is my favourite Pixar movie, it always leaves me with such a happy feeling, that I knew this had to be my pick for this prompt. For those who haven’t seen Wall-E, it’s set in 2805. Earth has been abandoned as there’s just too much trash everywhere. Everyone is now on a big cruise ship in space hanging out waiting for the “Waste Allocation Load Lifter – Earth” (Wall-E) class robots to clean up. It’s been 700 years since all the humans went up to space and now Wall-e is the last robot left. He’s developed a curious personality about all things human, and he’s a little lonely. He meets EVE, a fancy new robot sent to find any plant life living on Earth. Wall-E ends up following her, and together they wind up on an adventure across the galaxy.
Seriously, this movie is so cute!! A lot of the film has minimal dialogue, the characters without voices communicate through body language and robotic sounds.
Here’s a scene with my other favourite robot MO. He must clean all things.
Have you guys seen Wall-E?
What’s a movie that makes you happy?
Remember to check out Hannah’s post too as she’s also doing this movie challenge 🙂
Thanks for sticking with me through the A-Z Challenge. We’re so close to the end!!
X is for X-Men: Evolution
This is another show I remember loving and watching when I was younger. This series ran from 2000-2003, so for 9-12 year old me, this was my show. This caught my interest, because we saw the first X-Men movie in the theatres, not long before this first came on television. I have pretty much always been into superhero things it seems.
The A-Z Challenge continues as we slowly drift to and end.
T is for Adventure Time.
Adventure Time is an amazing, surreal show. My husband is actually the first one who introduced me to this show back in 2011. It’s a strange show for sure, but underneath all the strangeness it has got a lot of depth. It also has many characters, in a fantastic crazy world, and has also been known to do some gender bending episodes.
I heard about this show after I finished Avatar, as a big fan of that show, I was interested. I didn’t really get into this show as much. It took a while to suck me in. But Book 3 itself was outstanding enough to convince me to include it on this list. Korra’s story is a lot different to Aang’s. All three books of Avatar deal with one big overarching storyline, while each of the four books of Korra’s story have a different theme.
Let’s continue the random challenge I made for myself by listing television shows that I can recommend from A-Z. We’ve covered A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and now we move onto H.
H is for Bojack Horseman.
I am a fan of quite a number of the original Netflix shows. Bojack is something I decided to watch purely because it looked weird. It was also animated, and I was a bit bored with live action. Also, I found out that Alison Brie (from Community) was in it, so I wanted to have a peek at the show. I binge watched the first two season, and have recently finished the third. This show is amazing, hilarious, and weird. It does satire, pokes fun at everything, but also has incredibly serious moments, and has a very flawed main character (and supporting cast really), which makes it even more interesting.
