A Little Blog Appreciation

Hey! So I struggled for a title to this post, but basically, I wanted to share some love and a little spotlight on my lovely followers. More specifically, those lovely ladies who have commented so much on my blog, that they’re now in my stats page. This changes from time to time, so I may do another of these down the line.

I looked in the insights tab, and here’s who currently comments the most!

Obviously, I comment the most. I love talking with you guys about anything and everything.

Kate from Ankhor You

Kate! She is an absolute sweetheart a lady with many hats. She blogs about a little of everything, just like me! So, we’ve been following each other for a while, but recently, we’ve started chatting more and more. I always love seeing your name pop up in my notification feed! Check our her latest post all about snow here!

Amelia from Amelia in Hull

Amelia! She is so supportive and sweet! I’m sure a lot of you know her already, as she always leaves the nicest comments. She blogs about events and happenings in her hometown of Hull, especially since it was named City of Culture last year. I don’t know how long we’ve been following each other for, but I always look forward to hearing from her. Check out her latest post about the latest exhibition in Hull here!

Chanelle from Chanelle Hayley

Chanelle! She blogs about primarily lifestyle and beauty. She is also a fellow Kiwi blogger! So we can bond over that, and chat about seasons, without the other getting confused. We can also talk about where to get beauty products from, since most of American/European brands we have to buy online or overseas, as they’re not stocked down here in NZ. We’ve been following each other for ages now as well, and it’s always lovely to hear from her. Check out what’s been going on lately with her in this post here!

Rossy from AyR Galaxy

Rossy! Another fellow blogger who I’ve been following since forever. Rossy blogs mostly about beauty and lifestyle. We’ve started talking more and more recently, especially for our shared love of anime and manga. She is always supportive and sweet, and also gives me tips on makeup which I appreciate cause I’m still not sure what I’m doing. I always look  forward to hearing from her! Check out her latest post about her new year’s resolutions here!

Pamela from Starring Pamela

Pamela! One of my favourite people. I’ve been following Pamela’s blog for a while now, and our blogging friendship has continued to grow. Pamela has a lifestyle blog where she talks a little about everything. I always look forward to hearing from Pamela, either on the blog or elsewhere! We even did a recent collab together about our book recommendations! You can check that out here!

Arundhati from The Travelling Diary of a Dippy-Dotty Girl

Image may contain: 1 person

Arundhati! Another of my favourite people. Arundhati has been with my blog for the longest time. She was one of the first people I followed, which means we’ve been blogging friends for almost a year. She is one of the best people and writers, and I love hearing from her. She blogs and rambles about travels she and her partner have been on. Her latest post was about their recent trip to Rome, which you can check out here!

There you have it! Little snippets about these lovely ladies who have commented on my blog. Obviously, there’s lots of you who comment, and I appreciate that so much!! I have just been keeping an eye on the little comments stats tab, and wanted to share more about the bloggers up on there, as I always look forward to hearing from them!

This has also made me miss my Have You Met series a bit. I really enjoyed doing it, but each post I did would take a few hours to plan and write. After a while I took a break, and then just didn’t get back to it as we fell into the holiday season. So, I’m going to start bringing it back! Just a few times a month, but I do love talking about my amazing blogger friends and dedicating a whole post to their awesomeness.

Bloggers Made Me Buy It

I mean, I have free will and all, but you guys were definitely an influencing factor in all these purchases 😛

So if you guys know Anni from Gluecksgeist, you’ll know she often shares her obsessions with us. One of them was of cactus, and I was immediately swept up in it. They’re simply adorable, and I ended up going to my nearest garden store, and bought some straight away!

Three Year Journal

I was inspired by Ella’s posts about her five year journal, and I wanted something similar. While exploring Typo one day, I came across a three-year journal! Each month cycles the same questions which I was a little disappointed with, but otherwise, this is so much fun to fill in!! I can only imagine what my life will be like when it’s fully completed in another two years.

I mean a lot of you guys have talked about using planners for your blog. But two posts were stuck in my mind when I was walking around another stationary store (maybe I should stop going in so much). Jamie and Sarah, both recently did posts talking about their planners. So when the perfect one came along for me, how could I not get it??

Scratch Map

travel wall

I recently shared with you guys my little travel wall I had made to document my travel journeys. I asked for any suggestions to extend on it. Arundhati suggested a scratch map which I forgot even existed. So of course, I looked online and found one I liked for a decent price. So I immediately bought it.

DSLR Camera

I had wanted one for a while now. Especially since blogging, and I realized how much I love to photograph things. While these ladies weren’t directly responsible for me buying it, I know both Hazel and Chanelle have one (along with many others), and have talked about how much they loved theirs. So when a local electronic store had a sale, I bought it.

Even before having my DSLR camera, I struggled taking pictures of my outfits, or filming videos. I would balance my little digital camera or phone in the weirdest places, where it often fell down. Finally, after reading about Paige and Oriana getting a tripod, it all clicked into place. I also needed one.

This one is a little weird, but I would never have considered myself as someone who would wear overalls. Until I took part in Kali’s July Thrift List. I came out of that with clothes I wouldn’t have considered at all before. Now I have this pair of overalls that I love, I just need to track down some shorts version for the upcoming warmer seasons.

Real Technique Brushes

Now we move onto the beauty products. I had been a fan of using my fingers for all makeup things, but eventually I was curious about brushes. Both Pearl and Azra recommended Real Techniques as a decent brand of brushes that weren’t overpriced. So I got the core collection set, and I love using them.

Real Techniques Sponge

Speaking of Real Techniques, Rossy recommended their sponge, as I mentioned that I was interested in beauty blenders. I bought a little one from a pharmacy, but since I loved their brushes, I thought I’d give their blender a go too.

Bare Minerals Original Foundation

Bella often talks about this over on her blog. I had been curious on switching up my foundation for a while, so I gave it a go. There’s no sample size, so I could only get the full size but it came highly recommended, so I was good. I love it! The powder surprisingly offers lots of coverage!

In terms of makeup, I have bought lots of other products that I was pretty much unaware of before blogging. This includes bronzer, highlighter, eyeshadow palettes, setting sprays, etc.

Basically what I’m saying is, there’s so much more stuff I didn’t know I wanted and or needed till you guys came along. I’m kidding (a little). I do love all of these purchases though, so I guess you guys have good taste. I wonder what I’ll be ‘inspired’ to buy next.

Have you guys bought anything because of a fellow blogger’s recommendation?

Night Time Cozy Subscription Box (VIM Edition)

Guys! I won Emma’s giveaway a while back, and one day after work I came home to this massive box at my door! I had no idea that the subscription box was the VIM edition! VIM stands for Very Important Marzipan, and I was overwhelmed with the goodies that came inside!

So, since there was so much, I’ll just give a first impression of all these goodies!!

Night Time Cozy

Let’s have a look!

Hello Extra-Whitening Flouride Toothpaste

Now I have tried this toothpaste a few times, it’s non-foaming and the whitening products are all natural. So no peroxide, no dyes, artificial sweeteners and no preservatives. It’s also apparently vegan and gluten-free. That being out of the way, I like the toothpaste. No idea how to judge the whitening aspect though since I’ve only been using it for a few days.

Bole USA Toothbrush

This is apparently the toothbrush of the future, according to the box. The bristles are surprisingly gentle, and it feels nice to brush with. According to the card that comes with the box, the brush is also embedded with silver in the bristles which kills baterica that builds on your toothbrush. Neat.

Honest Beauty Refreshingly Clean Gel Cleanser

gel cleanser

I don’t currently have a cleanser for washing my face or removing makeup. I just use wipes and splash my face with water. I’ve used it a few times though and it feels really good on my face. It’s removed minimal makeup quite easily, but I haven’t tried it when I’ve worn more makeup. The cleanser has Yucca root extract and saponaria in it, whatever those are.

DERMA E Overnight Peel

overnight peel

I didn’t know that there a product that you could leave on your face overnight. I have yet to try this, but like most of Marzia’s products, I’m sure it’ll be good.

Crabtree & Evelyn Lavender & Espresso Body Lotion

body lotion

Lavender and Espresso sound like a crazy mix. I didn’t even get that when I was smelling it, but it feels really smooth when I put in and hydrates my skin well. That’s all I need in a lotion. I got a hand cream by this brand in Marzia’s Summer Favourites Box, and I was impressed by that one too.

YesTo Grapefruit Sleeping Mask, Agadir Moisture Masque, and Borghese Restorative Eye Sheet Mask

I combined all the masks in one photo. The first one is for your face, which I think you wear as you sleep. The second one is for your hair to nourish and mend split end and frizziness. The third one is for your undereyes. It takes me ages to try any kind of mask, but I’ll get to these eventually.

Blue Lagoon Multi-Pack

blue lagoon

Recently, Marzia and Felix went to Iceland and visited the Blue Lagoon. She was then able to work out a deal to get them to add some goodies to the subscription box! This includes three little tubs to exfoliate, cleanse and nourish skin. I’m really keen to try this during the weekend.

Kenra Hairspray

Volume Spray

I don’t use hairspray too much, but apparently this one is award winning, flake free, dries fast for up to 120 hours (!), and has wind and humidity resistance. I may have to try find some styles to try just so I can use this amazing hairspray.

Agadir Argan Oil Hair Treatment

hair treatment

This is a leave-on treatment for you hair, that will apparently give you that salon look. As someone who’s been trying to resist going to the salon, this could be fun!

Pretty Vulgar On Point Liquid Eyeliner Pen

I haven’t tried this eyeliner, but from the packaging alone I’m already in love! It’s adorable!! I always love playing with eyeliners, so I can’t wait to take this one out for a spin.

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Gloss

lip gloss

I misread the name of this lip gloss a few times before realizing it was a P not a F. Either way, cute play on words. I don’t normally wear lipgloss, but again, I love playing around with beauty and makeup things.

Creamy Pop Stickers and Buttons

creamy pop

A button featuring Maya, and sticker featuring Edgar!

Custom Pillowcases

The box came with two pillowcases, designed by Marzia! They fall under her Forest Creature themed doodles which I love.

Marzia Bath Bomb

bath bomb

It’s little, pink, and smells faintly of bubblegum I think. It’s cute, but when I put it in our full sized bath, it didn’t really make much of a difference.

Forest Creature Saku Washcloth

A teeny washcloth with another forest creature design!

Forest Creature Shido Candle

Another forest creature design, this time for a candle. I think it’s scented, but I can’t figure out what the scent is. I’m also not really into scented candles myself.

Art Print

art print

A little print which I plan to hang in my office 🙂

So yeah, that’s everything in the box! It’s so much stuff, and I can’t wait to try them all! I’ve always loved Marzia’s subscription box, so I’m glad this was the giveaway I was lucky enough to win!! I still have products to use up from her previous boxes, and now I have even more!! So much goodies, and I’m still buzzing! Thanks again to Emma for hosting the giveaway!

Have you guys tried any of the products above?

Have You Met Rossy?

Haaaaaaaaave you met Rossy?

Rossy blogs over at AyR Galaxy. She’s in her 20s and is a proud mumma and wife! She started her blog back in June 2015. She blogs primarily about beauty, lifestyle and fashion!

ayr galaxy.JPG

I’ve been following Rossy for a while, and I love all her beauty and OOTD posts! I follow so many amazing ladies, and Rossy is no exception! She’s also just a lovely person, and I love when we connect through our posts and comments 🙂

Here’s a snippet from her About page:

I initially made this blog out of curiosity, but the experience has been so much fun and my blog has allowed me to branch out. I truly do enjoy writing, and I love the interaction with all of you.

Here are some of my favourite posts of hers:

Rossy has been updating her vanity table for a while, and I love when she gives us any updates on them! It looks incredible!

Rossy recently completed a 30 day makeup challenge, where she had to create a look each day depending on the prompt. I loved a lot of her looks, but my favourite was definitely this one! I am just a sucker for pastel colours (we both are)!

Rossy shares top 5 posts about a number of topics, and I always love reading them! I know you guys in the US and Europe are just leaving summer, but as I’m getting it in a few months, any summer posts now have me really excited! Shorts! Dresses!

This post is a bit different to the previous, its about anxiety and stress. Rossy shares with us her thoughts and feelings at the moment, with the message that you shouldn’t be afraid to reach out and ask for help.

Rossy has shared quite a few OOTD, but this one still stands out as my favourite. Everything about the outfit, the look, hair and makeup just seem perfect! I also just love the pastel pink colour of the top, the skirt, and those shoes!!

This post is just a lot of fun. Rossy gets Alex to explain what he thinks different makeup products are for, and he doesn’t do too bad!

Quite a few blogs don’t do awards, as does Rossy, and in this post, she explains why she does this. They’re all great reasons, and I’m sure many others can relate!

Be sure to check her out as well on YouTubeInstagram, and Twitter!

Rossy, I love your blog and I can’t wait to see the latest changes you’re making! Your posts are always so much fun to read, and I’m happy to have met another anime fan ?  I hope you have an amazing week!

So, have you guys checked out Rossy yet?

Have You Met Chanelle?

Haaaaaaaaave you met Chanelle?

Chanelle blogs over at Chanelle Hayley. She’s 22 and based down in my corner of the world, New Zealand! She started her blog back in 2014 (!), and has gotten back into blogging consistently since earlier this year. She blogs about beauty, makeup, lifestyle and her thoughts.

Chanelle Logo

I came across Chanelle’s blog one day, and the first thing that got me excited is that she’s also in New Zealand! Then of course I started reading her posts, and I loved them. So I followed, and the rest is history 😀

Here are her words about what her blog is about:

Chanelle Hayley began after taking inspiration from Filofax users and their blogs. The idea of having my own little place to talk about the things I love and encompass my passion for all things beauty related is what inspired me to start writing. By no means am I an expert on beauty (and in many ways consider myself a novice) but I see other blogs as sources of inspiration. I always enjoy discovering and learning about new products as well as sharing my adoration with fellow beauty addicts.

Here are some of my favourite posts of hers:

As stated, Chanelle shares 50 things that make her happy. It’s always fun to make this kind of list, and see what others put on theirs!

If you’re nosy (like me), you may just like knowing what people get up to on a regular day. Chanelle shares what she got up to one Monday.

First off, isn’t that photo pretty?? Chanelle took it with her own DSLR camera 😀 Chanelle reviews this nail polish in this post, and you get lots of nice pictures along the way!

In celebration of her first year anniversary with her partner, Chanelle shares 5 things she’s learnt being in a relationship.

Chanelle shares with us her current method for organising her blog and scheduling posts. It’s always interesting to know what everyone’s method is when it comes to planning and organizing their blog, everyone is so different!

In celebration of her boyfriend’s 25th birthday, Chanelle put together the cutest birthday surprise. They had a lovely day together, and this post is just so sweet!

Each month, Chanelle shares with us her monthly entries into her gratitude journal. Each day, you write a little something about what you’re grateful for. At the end of a month, you have a good collection going 🙂

You can find Chanelle on Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter as well!

Chanelle, you continue to be a supportive and lovely friend in the blogging world! You’re also a fellow kiwi, and one of the few bloggers who is in the same season and timezone as me ? I love reading your posts, and I hope you’re having an amazing Saturday 😀

So, have you guys checked out Chanelle yet??

You Deserve Flowers Tag

Ash created this tag, it’s all about gifting flowers and showing your appreciation!

  • Set a featured image of your own choice of flowers when you post the tag.
  • Link the creator (that’s me. I’d love to see people do this tag, because expressed gratitude and flowers are just beautiful and if you’ll tag me I’ll be able to see the posts quicker.)
  • Tag the people who you appreciate and write a few lines telling them about it. Dedicate them a flower/s of your choice.
  • The people who you have tagged may now carry the tag forward or may wish not to. It’s entirely their choice.
  • There is no limit to the number of people you must tag or the number of flowers you must dedicate to a person. So go ahead, you might as well give them a garden.

Here’s the people I’d like to tag. Feel no pressure to take part, I just wanted to let you ladies know how much I appreciate you!

(Photo by Louis Lo on Unsplash)

Thanks again Ash for tagging me in the first place!

Have You Met Nina?

Haaaaaaaaave you met Nina?

Nina blogs over at Comfy Kittea. She’s in her late 20’s and based in Germany. She started her blog back in October 2016. She blogs about DIY, baking, lifestyle, travel, and a little bit of everything!

Here’s Nina’s words about her blog!

Hey, my name is Nina and comfykittea is my little space on the web where I share the things I love!

I found Nina a few months back, and I love that we both have the same blogging niche – everything! Nina’s posts are all so much fun to read, and she’s such a supportive member in the community.

Here are some of my favourite posts of hers:

Unicorn ice cream

This was the first post I recall finding from Nina! It looks so good, and I’m always keen on the unicorn trend!

Stationery Haul

I just love hauls in general. Who doesn’t love seeing what people have bought? Especially when it comes to cute stationary!

Shetland Pony

One of Nina’s recurring series where she shares with us what’s been happening in her week. I always love reading these, but the first one is forever my favourite thanks to Lotte!

Orange Menu

Nina shares with us some changes she’s made with her blog. It’s always nice to change things up, and I love that she included her readers with her decision 🙂

Nina has been sharing posts abour her recent travelling! My favourite so far is this town in northern Portugal, well known for beaches, and these cute houses!!

Another food post! This time, these gorgeous milkshakes! Strawberry Cheesecake and Raspberry Yogurt!

The most recent DIY Nina has shared with us is this adorable tassel garland. It’s so teeny and cute!

Be sure to check her out on Instagram and Twitter as well!

Nina, your blog is so creative and inspiring! I love all the DIYs and food posts you share, you’re so good at them! At the same time, I love all the other posts you share, snippets of your life, travels, and hauls! I can’t wait to see what you share with us next 🙂

So, have you guys checked out Nina yet??

Have You Met Jasmin?

Haaaaaaaaave you met Jasmin?

Jasmin blogs over at Ugh Mango, which is one of the best blog titles ever! She is 20 and based in Finland. Her blog started back in November last year. In her blog, you can find a mixture of fashion, beauty and lifestyle!

Here’s her words about her blog:

I am Jasmin, a twenty something girl who loves flowers, fruits and tea. My blog is a mix of things that fascinate me such as fashion, beauty and traveling. I hope you enjoy the ride!

I found Jasmin’s blog a while back, and it’s been fun getting to know her better through her blog! Her posts are so much fun to read, and her photos are always stunning. Whether it’s about lifestyle, fashion or beauty, I know I’ll enjoy it! They’re all gorgeous, and especially her OOTD posts seem so natural 😀

Here are some of my favourite posts of hers:

I love this post. Jasmin shares 15 interesting questions. They are designed to make you stop and think, and take in the world around you. I really recommend sitting down and answering them if you have time!

To be honest, I didn’t know smoothie bowls was a thing, but I’m so into it. Jasmin shares recipes to make a Mango Pineapple, and a Strawberry Banana smoothie bowl. Look how amazing the photo

I honestly want a yellow raincoat after reading this. This is my favourite OOTD Jasmin has ever done, and it’s just perfect! She pairs the bright jacket with black jeans and a white sweater, and the pictures are all beautiful. How do you manage to look so casual and not look confused?? ?

Jasmin’s food posts are amazing! I love how she takes the photos! Also these tiny pancakes are delicious and put me in the mood for pancakes even though it’s night as I write this.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

I love posts like this. It’s always fun to see what people carry around in their bags. Like Jasmin says, “There is just something so interesting in normal everyday things such as vlogs, room tours and grocery store hauls.” Again, it’s beautifully shot.

Jasmin shares and then recreates looks from the iconic Rachel Green from FRIENDS. She chooses three of Rachel’s looks and copies them so well! The overalls is my favourite look, maybe cause I’m a proud owner of one myself!

Be sure to check her out on Instagram as well!

Jasmin, your blog is incredible! You have so much skills when it comes to photography, and I love reading your posts! I am forever in awe of your OOTD skills! You are so sweet and supportive, and I look forward to see what you’ll blog about next!

So, have you guys checked out Jasmin yet?

Have You Met Bella?

Haaaaaaaaave you met Bella?

Bella blogs over at Bella Inizio. She is 24, and based in London. She also works full time on top of blogging three times a week! She blogs about beauty and makeup primarily, but also posts reflection and thoughts.

• Bella Inizio •

Smokey Eye Tutorial | CT Luxury Palette in ‘Uptown Girl’

A makeup-holic, beauty obsessive and self proclaimed goo hoarder. Everything girly, I’ve got you covered.

Her words about what you’ll find on her blog!

Like with a lot of my blogging friends, I can no longer remember who found who first. It all becomes a blur, especially the longer you’ve been blogging! I’m so glad I came across her blog though!

Here are some of my favourite posts of hers:

Going ‘Self-Hosted’ Experience

Bella is one of the self hosted bloggers in our community! She, like many others who have gone through it shares her tips and advice about the whole experience. It’s confusing and frustrating, but worth it in the end! If you do go self hosted, read all the blog posts from those who’ve gone through it. I did, and it helped alleviate stress for me (a little anyway).

Current Hair Care Routine

As someone who gets annoyed at her hair and it’s tendency to get oily and frizzy, I love reading about hair care products and tips that people use!

Holy Grail Products | Collab with Shannon Clare

Bella shares with us her holy grail picks, and explains why they get that coveted title! She is the reason why I now own a Bare Minerals concealer, and I’m keen to get my hands on the foundation one day too!

Sunset Eye Tutorial | Collab with The Happy Diary

Bella has shared many looks with us, but this is still my all-time favourite! Look at her eyes!! They’re stunning! I still don’t even know if I’m applying eyeshadow the correct way, this girl has serious skills!!

Everyday Makeup Routine

Bella also shares with us her everyday makeup look. Again, I like knowing what products people often use, as it means they like it, and also the order they apply makeup. Everyone does it a little different, and I just love reading all about it.

Staying Organised | Working Full Time & Running a Blog

This is all about the struggle of working full time and trying to keep up with your blog. I’m sure a lot of us know this feeling (blogging does occasionally feel like a second job), and Bella shares with us her tips and advice on how she stays on top of it all.

Be sure to check her out on Twitter and Instagram as well!

Bella, your blog is indeed one of the first places I go to for inspiration on all things girly! Your beauty posts and photos are always so stunning, and I can’t wait to see what you’ll do next on your blog!

So, have you guys checked out Bella yet??
