Have You Met Maria?

It’s been too long since I’ve typed those words. So, without further ado…

Haaaaaaaave you met Maria?

How to enjoy working out

Maria blogs over at What is Maria. An amazing blog name, for an even more amazing person. She is 18. Russian born, and based in Brighton, England. She blogs about food, fitness, self-development, productivity and well-ness.

Here’s a snippet from her About page:

Aside from being a history nerd and having a passion for making bad jokes, I have always aspired to bring value into the world by helping others live a healthy, productive life. True wellbeing encompasses much more than what you put in your body or what you do in the gym (although, those are undoubtedly very important): it has much to do with how you view yourself and those around you, the habits you establish and the attitude with which you undertake your daily pursuits.

I believe Maria found me first. I remember getting a comment from her, and she seemed so lovely and confident. So of course, I went over to her blog, and I never left. Maria’s blog is filled with so much advice, positivity, beautiful pictures, and food!! So much incredible food! She shares her vegan creations with us, and her food photography skills are insane! I recently found her food Instagram, and I couldn’t stop scrolling through all the pictures.

As always, I would like to share some of my favourite posts from Maria.

How to be a morning person

Morning people seem to be in the minority. You often hear about people who find it hard to wake up early, preferring to sleep in past 9. Maria shares about how she’s changed to be a morning person, and offers tips to those who may be struggling with it. Obviously though, not everyone has to be a morning person, but if you’re wanting to give it a go, this is a good post to read!

How to make oatmeal

As I said, Maria is incredible skilled in taking photos of food! She also comes up with recipes that she shares with us. This post is all about oatmeals, and the array of amazing toppings you can put on it. Fresh fruit is always a good idea!

Vegan salad recipe

Yes, another food post. I told myself to select a range of posts from Maria’s blog, but I had to include another food one. They’re amazing. This time, Maria shares a selection of party foods you can bring. Just look at how she cut those oranges!

Internet detox

The internet can be a fabulous place, but it can also eat up a lot of your time. Take it from someone who blogs everyday, and watches a lot of YouTube. It takes up a LOT of my time. It’s good to take a step back sometimes. If you’re looking for reasons why this is a good thing, click on the link!

Workout tips

Another topic Maria often talks about is fitness. As someone who always lacks motivation, reading these kinds of posts can really inspire me to get back into working out. Even if it’s just a little, even if it’s light. Maria shares lots of insights to ease that dread of exercise!

So, have I convinced you guys to check out Maria yet?

Bloggers Made Me Buy It

I mean, I have free will and all, but you guys were definitely an influencing factor in all these purchases 😛

So if you guys know Anni from Gluecksgeist, you’ll know she often shares her obsessions with us. One of them was of cactus, and I was immediately swept up in it. They’re simply adorable, and I ended up going to my nearest garden store, and bought some straight away!

Three Year Journal

I was inspired by Ella’s posts about her five year journal, and I wanted something similar. While exploring Typo one day, I came across a three-year journal! Each month cycles the same questions which I was a little disappointed with, but otherwise, this is so much fun to fill in!! I can only imagine what my life will be like when it’s fully completed in another two years.

I mean a lot of you guys have talked about using planners for your blog. But two posts were stuck in my mind when I was walking around another stationary store (maybe I should stop going in so much). Jamie and Sarah, both recently did posts talking about their planners. So when the perfect one came along for me, how could I not get it??

Scratch Map

travel wall

I recently shared with you guys my little travel wall I had made to document my travel journeys. I asked for any suggestions to extend on it. Arundhati suggested a scratch map which I forgot even existed. So of course, I looked online and found one I liked for a decent price. So I immediately bought it.

DSLR Camera

I had wanted one for a while now. Especially since blogging, and I realized how much I love to photograph things. While these ladies weren’t directly responsible for me buying it, I know both Hazel and Chanelle have one (along with many others), and have talked about how much they loved theirs. So when a local electronic store had a sale, I bought it.

Even before having my DSLR camera, I struggled taking pictures of my outfits, or filming videos. I would balance my little digital camera or phone in the weirdest places, where it often fell down. Finally, after reading about Paige and Oriana getting a tripod, it all clicked into place. I also needed one.

This one is a little weird, but I would never have considered myself as someone who would wear overalls. Until I took part in Kali’s July Thrift List. I came out of that with clothes I wouldn’t have considered at all before. Now I have this pair of overalls that I love, I just need to track down some shorts version for the upcoming warmer seasons.

Real Technique Brushes

Now we move onto the beauty products. I had been a fan of using my fingers for all makeup things, but eventually I was curious about brushes. Both Pearl and Azra recommended Real Techniques as a decent brand of brushes that weren’t overpriced. So I got the core collection set, and I love using them.

Real Techniques Sponge

Speaking of Real Techniques, Rossy recommended their sponge, as I mentioned that I was interested in beauty blenders. I bought a little one from a pharmacy, but since I loved their brushes, I thought I’d give their blender a go too.

Bare Minerals Original Foundation

Bella often talks about this over on her blog. I had been curious on switching up my foundation for a while, so I gave it a go. There’s no sample size, so I could only get the full size but it came highly recommended, so I was good. I love it! The powder surprisingly offers lots of coverage!

In terms of makeup, I have bought lots of other products that I was pretty much unaware of before blogging. This includes bronzer, highlighter, eyeshadow palettes, setting sprays, etc.

Basically what I’m saying is, there’s so much more stuff I didn’t know I wanted and or needed till you guys came along. I’m kidding (a little). I do love all of these purchases though, so I guess you guys have good taste. I wonder what I’ll be ‘inspired’ to buy next.

Have you guys bought anything because of a fellow blogger’s recommendation?

Have You Met Rossy?

Haaaaaaaaave you met Rossy?

Rossy blogs over at AyR Galaxy. She’s in her 20s and is a proud mumma and wife! She started her blog back in June 2015. She blogs primarily about beauty, lifestyle and fashion!

ayr galaxy.JPG

I’ve been following Rossy for a while, and I love all her beauty and OOTD posts! I follow so many amazing ladies, and Rossy is no exception! She’s also just a lovely person, and I love when we connect through our posts and comments 🙂

Here’s a snippet from her About page:

I initially made this blog out of curiosity, but the experience has been so much fun and my blog has allowed me to branch out. I truly do enjoy writing, and I love the interaction with all of you.

Here are some of my favourite posts of hers:

Rossy has been updating her vanity table for a while, and I love when she gives us any updates on them! It looks incredible!

Rossy recently completed a 30 day makeup challenge, where she had to create a look each day depending on the prompt. I loved a lot of her looks, but my favourite was definitely this one! I am just a sucker for pastel colours (we both are)!

Rossy shares top 5 posts about a number of topics, and I always love reading them! I know you guys in the US and Europe are just leaving summer, but as I’m getting it in a few months, any summer posts now have me really excited! Shorts! Dresses!

This post is a bit different to the previous, its about anxiety and stress. Rossy shares with us her thoughts and feelings at the moment, with the message that you shouldn’t be afraid to reach out and ask for help.

Rossy has shared quite a few OOTD, but this one still stands out as my favourite. Everything about the outfit, the look, hair and makeup just seem perfect! I also just love the pastel pink colour of the top, the skirt, and those shoes!!

This post is just a lot of fun. Rossy gets Alex to explain what he thinks different makeup products are for, and he doesn’t do too bad!

Quite a few blogs don’t do awards, as does Rossy, and in this post, she explains why she does this. They’re all great reasons, and I’m sure many others can relate!

Be sure to check her out as well on YouTubeInstagram, and Twitter!

Rossy, I love your blog and I can’t wait to see the latest changes you’re making! Your posts are always so much fun to read, and I’m happy to have met another anime fan ?  I hope you have an amazing week!

So, have you guys checked out Rossy yet?

Have You Met Chanelle?

Haaaaaaaaave you met Chanelle?

Chanelle blogs over at Chanelle Hayley. She’s 22 and based down in my corner of the world, New Zealand! She started her blog back in 2014 (!), and has gotten back into blogging consistently since earlier this year. She blogs about beauty, makeup, lifestyle and her thoughts.

Chanelle Logo

I came across Chanelle’s blog one day, and the first thing that got me excited is that she’s also in New Zealand! Then of course I started reading her posts, and I loved them. So I followed, and the rest is history 😀

Here are her words about what her blog is about:

Chanelle Hayley began after taking inspiration from Filofax users and their blogs. The idea of having my own little place to talk about the things I love and encompass my passion for all things beauty related is what inspired me to start writing. By no means am I an expert on beauty (and in many ways consider myself a novice) but I see other blogs as sources of inspiration. I always enjoy discovering and learning about new products as well as sharing my adoration with fellow beauty addicts.

Here are some of my favourite posts of hers:

As stated, Chanelle shares 50 things that make her happy. It’s always fun to make this kind of list, and see what others put on theirs!

If you’re nosy (like me), you may just like knowing what people get up to on a regular day. Chanelle shares what she got up to one Monday.

First off, isn’t that photo pretty?? Chanelle took it with her own DSLR camera 😀 Chanelle reviews this nail polish in this post, and you get lots of nice pictures along the way!

In celebration of her first year anniversary with her partner, Chanelle shares 5 things she’s learnt being in a relationship.

Chanelle shares with us her current method for organising her blog and scheduling posts. It’s always interesting to know what everyone’s method is when it comes to planning and organizing their blog, everyone is so different!

In celebration of her boyfriend’s 25th birthday, Chanelle put together the cutest birthday surprise. They had a lovely day together, and this post is just so sweet!

Each month, Chanelle shares with us her monthly entries into her gratitude journal. Each day, you write a little something about what you’re grateful for. At the end of a month, you have a good collection going 🙂

You can find Chanelle on Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter as well!

Chanelle, you continue to be a supportive and lovely friend in the blogging world! You’re also a fellow kiwi, and one of the few bloggers who is in the same season and timezone as me ? I love reading your posts, and I hope you’re having an amazing Saturday 😀

So, have you guys checked out Chanelle yet??

I found Nina a few months back, and I love that we both have the same blogging niche – everything! Nina’s posts are all so much fun to read, and she’s such a supportive member in the community.

Here are some of my favourite posts of hers:

Unicorn ice cream

This was the first post I recall finding from Nina! It looks so good, and I’m always keen on the unicorn trend!

Stationery Haul

I just love hauls in general. Who doesn’t love seeing what people have bought? Especially when it comes to cute stationary!

Shetland Pony

One of Nina’s recurring series where she shares with us what’s been happening in her week. I always love reading these, but the first one is forever my favourite thanks to Lotte!

Orange Menu

Nina shares with us some changes she’s made with her blog. It’s always nice to change things up, and I love that she included her readers with her decision 🙂

Nina has been sharing posts abour her recent travelling! My favourite so far is this town in northern Portugal, well known for beaches, and these cute houses!!

Another food post! This time, these gorgeous milkshakes! Strawberry Cheesecake and Raspberry Yogurt!

The most recent DIY Nina has shared with us is this adorable tassel garland. It’s so teeny and cute!

Be sure to check her out on Instagram and Twitter as well!

Nina, your blog is so creative and inspiring! I love all the DIYs and food posts you share, you’re so good at them! At the same time, I love all the other posts you share, snippets of your life, travels, and hauls! I can’t wait to see what you share with us next 🙂

So, have you guys checked out Nina yet??

Have You Met Jasmin?

Haaaaaaaaave you met Jasmin?

Jasmin blogs over at Ugh Mango, which is one of the best blog titles ever! She is 20 and based in Finland. Her blog started back in November last year. In her blog, you can find a mixture of fashion, beauty and lifestyle!

Here’s her words about her blog:

I am Jasmin, a twenty something girl who loves flowers, fruits and tea. My blog is a mix of things that fascinate me such as fashion, beauty and traveling. I hope you enjoy the ride!

I found Jasmin’s blog a while back, and it’s been fun getting to know her better through her blog! Her posts are so much fun to read, and her photos are always stunning. Whether it’s about lifestyle, fashion or beauty, I know I’ll enjoy it! They’re all gorgeous, and especially her OOTD posts seem so natural 😀

Here are some of my favourite posts of hers:

I love this post. Jasmin shares 15 interesting questions. They are designed to make you stop and think, and take in the world around you. I really recommend sitting down and answering them if you have time!

To be honest, I didn’t know smoothie bowls was a thing, but I’m so into it. Jasmin shares recipes to make a Mango Pineapple, and a Strawberry Banana smoothie bowl. Look how amazing the photo

I honestly want a yellow raincoat after reading this. This is my favourite OOTD Jasmin has ever done, and it’s just perfect! She pairs the bright jacket with black jeans and a white sweater, and the pictures are all beautiful. How do you manage to look so casual and not look confused?? ?

Jasmin’s food posts are amazing! I love how she takes the photos! Also these tiny pancakes are delicious and put me in the mood for pancakes even though it’s night as I write this.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

I love posts like this. It’s always fun to see what people carry around in their bags. Like Jasmin says, “There is just something so interesting in normal everyday things such as vlogs, room tours and grocery store hauls.” Again, it’s beautifully shot.

Jasmin shares and then recreates looks from the iconic Rachel Green from FRIENDS. She chooses three of Rachel’s looks and copies them so well! The overalls is my favourite look, maybe cause I’m a proud owner of one myself!

Be sure to check her out on Instagram as well!

Jasmin, your blog is incredible! You have so much skills when it comes to photography, and I love reading your posts! I am forever in awe of your OOTD skills! You are so sweet and supportive, and I look forward to see what you’ll blog about next!

So, have you guys checked out Jasmin yet?

Smokey Eye Tutorial | CT Luxury Palette in ‘Uptown Girl’

A makeup-holic, beauty obsessive and self proclaimed goo hoarder. Everything girly, I’ve got you covered.

Her words about what you’ll find on her blog!

Like with a lot of my blogging friends, I can no longer remember who found who first. It all becomes a blur, especially the longer you’ve been blogging! I’m so glad I came across her blog though!

Here are some of my favourite posts of hers:

Going ‘Self-Hosted’ Experience

Bella is one of the self hosted bloggers in our community! She, like many others who have gone through it shares her tips and advice about the whole experience. It’s confusing and frustrating, but worth it in the end! If you do go self hosted, read all the blog posts from those who’ve gone through it. I did, and it helped alleviate stress for me (a little anyway).

Current Hair Care Routine

As someone who gets annoyed at her hair and it’s tendency to get oily and frizzy, I love reading about hair care products and tips that people use!

Holy Grail Products | Collab with Shannon Clare

Bella shares with us her holy grail picks, and explains why they get that coveted title! She is the reason why I now own a Bare Minerals concealer, and I’m keen to get my hands on the foundation one day too!

Sunset Eye Tutorial | Collab with The Happy Diary

Bella has shared many looks with us, but this is still my all-time favourite! Look at her eyes!! They’re stunning! I still don’t even know if I’m applying eyeshadow the correct way, this girl has serious skills!!

Everyday Makeup Routine

Bella also shares with us her everyday makeup look. Again, I like knowing what products people often use, as it means they like it, and also the order they apply makeup. Everyone does it a little different, and I just love reading all about it.

Staying Organised | Working Full Time & Running a Blog

This is all about the struggle of working full time and trying to keep up with your blog. I’m sure a lot of us know this feeling (blogging does occasionally feel like a second job), and Bella shares with us her tips and advice on how she stays on top of it all.

Be sure to check her out on Twitter and Instagram as well!

Bella, your blog is indeed one of the first places I go to for inspiration on all things girly! Your beauty posts and photos are always so stunning, and I can’t wait to see what you’ll do next on your blog!

So, have you guys checked out Bella yet??

Have You Met Sarah?

Haaaaaaaaave you met Sarah?

Sarah blogs over at Vintage Tea Rose. She’s 25, and based in Greater Manchester, UK. She started her blog not too long ago, back in June actually! She blogs about beauty, lifestyle, fashion, interior, and books. A little of everything really! She also has a few series going on. Brands I Want More Of, Monthly Memories, and Outfit of the Day.

While scrolling through all her posts while writing this (as I do), I came across her answer to Why She Started Blogging in her post for the Sunshine Blogger Award.

I started because I wanted to feel like I was doing something, being productive with my time, and as I’ve always loved reading other peoples blogs, watching YouTube videos etc. I decided to create one of my own. In my first ever blog post I say how I don’t know if I’ll want to even continue come the morning (it was an urge I had at around 2am) but I have been posting 3 times a week ever since then. I really love it, as everyone who blogs does, and I love the little community I’ve already been welcomed into, it has just added something to my life that I didn’t realise I was missing.

I’ve been following Sarah since she started her blog pretty much, and I don’t even remember who found who first! But either way, I’m glad it happened. Sarah is such a lovely, creative person who has a blog I love to read! She blogs quite often, at least three times a week, so it’s always nice to see when she’s posted something!

Speaking of, here are some of my favourite posts of hers:

Literally the cutest thing ever. I love Sarah’s dog Oscar, he is so adorable, and this post is all about him. She shares many things she loves about him, and bakes him a doggie cake for his 5th birthday!

20170809_180028 20170809_175214

Sarah shares with us a DIY for making your own cactus terrarium! Look how amazing it came out!

Sarah is lucky enough to live close by to this gorgeous piece of land and water. She often goes by to the lake (with her dog Oscar and little siblings), and took us along through her photos.

A day trip this time to a little town an hour’s drive away. Sarah again goes with siblings and Oscar, and they have an amazing day out, ending with a trip to the beach!

I keep bringing up Sarah’s posts about Oscar, but I can’t help it. Her dog is too cute! However, this post is more on the serious side as Sarah shares with us things you should know and be serious about before you make the big decision of adopting a dog. Don’t go into it lightly folks, know what you’re doing. For your sake, and the dog’s!

Two things. One, I would totally wear this outfit. Patterned top, cardigan and jeans are my favourite! Two, the commentary Sarah writes alongside these photos are just hilarious!

Be sure to check her out on Instagram and Pinterest as well!

So, Sarah! I love that I’ve met you through this blogging business! Your blog is so fun and positive, and I can’t wait to see where you’ll go with it 😀

Have you guys checked out Sarah yet??

Community Lookbook

So, has anyone watched Community?

Image result for community tv

If not, I suggest you do. I mentioned it in my A-Z Challenge (anyone remember that?), and it’s a sitcom based around a study group in community college.

The point of this post is that I was watching some episodes and thought that I dress similiarly to Annie. She wears a lot of cardigans. From that thought, I decided to try do a lookbook inspired by some of the characters from the show.

Let’s get into it.

Annie Edison

She’s the overachiever of the group. She studies the hardest (too hard) and is incredibly ambitious and kind of highly strung. She often wears bright cardigans, floral themes, lots of patterned dresses, mini skirts, and mostly ballet flats.

Image result for annie edison outfit Image result for annie edison outfit Image result for annie outfit floral shirt mini skirt

Since she’s into bright patterns and florals, I chose my floral sweater, and paired it with my favourite blue mini. For the shoes, I went with ballet flats.

annie outfit flatlay

Britta Perry

She’s the ‘activist’ of the group. She gets riled up over anything and everything, and while her heart is in the right place, she can mess up a lot. She normally wears leather jackets, striped sweaters, singlets and always jeans with boots. As well as normally some kind of necklace.

Image result for britta perry outfit Image result for britta perry leather jacket Image result for britta perry outfit

I couldn’t find my striped sweater, so I went with my striped shirt, and paired it with a dark blue vest. I then matched it with my blue jeans (since I don’t actually have black jeans), and my dark grey booties.

Abed Nadir

Somewhat socially unaware and awkward, Abed is analytical and ‘meta’. He talks a lot about the fact that their life is like on a television show. He often wears a graphic print tee, with a cardigan or hoodie on top, skinny jeans, and sneakers.

Image result for abed nadir outfit Image result for abed nadir outfit Image result for abed nadir outfit

I don’t have any shirts with cute designs on them apparently. I looked through my whole closet but since I decluttered recently, I must have donated them. So I borrowed one of Rory’s graphic shirts. Then I added my stripy cardigan, blue jeggings, and sneakers.

Troy Barnes

His identity used to revolve around football, until he embraced his nerdy, laidback side. In the first season, he often wore his letterman jacket. But normally, he just wears a regular sweater and jeans. Sometimes a hoodie.

Image result for troy barnes outfit Image result for troy barnes outfit Image result for troy barnes outfit

For my take, I got my blue sweater, and matched it with blue jeans and sneakers. It dawns on me that I have a lot of blue clothes and not much other colours.

That’s all I have. I don’t know how well I matched to the outfits, but it was fun looking through my wardrobe to see what I could do!

Let me know which one was your favourite, and if you’ve seen the show!
