Tarte Lipstick Collection

My favourite lipstick for a while has been my Tarte lip paint in Grand. I got it from my Tarte Treasure Box on my birthday and I’ve loved it ever since. In a recent Tarte sale, I decided to buy some more of the lip paints. They had two little gift boxes, and I couldn’t decide between the two, so I got both!

Tarteist Lip Trio

So this is a travel size lip kit, containing two tarteist lip paints and a lip liner. Each colour is a shade of pink. I don’t have much pink lipsticks in general, so I wanted to try it.

The lip crayon is in bubbly (pink berry). The lipstick with the black lid is a quick dry matte lip paint in epic (pink raspberry), while the lipstick with the gold lid is a glossy lip paint in token (pink nude).

I used the liner with Epic, and I think it’s appropriately named. I really like this colour on me! It’s quite a dark pink, almost red. It was easy to apply and felt smooth on my lips. It dried matte quite fast. There was a lot of colour pay off after just one coat which I really love about these lipsticks. As for the lip liner, it glided on so smooth. I don’t often wear lip liners (cause I don’t have one), but I can definitely see the appeal of it. It makes lipstick look a lot cleaner and tidier.

I look a bit sad in this, but it may be cause I don’t really like lip gloss. Token is a nice nude colour, but it does feel sticky due to it’s glossy nature. The colour itself is more nude than pink, and is similar to a lipstick I already have. I don’t think I’d use this one that much. I also didn’t use the liner for this, as it’s darker than the lip gloss and I didn’t like how it looked.

Tarteist Lip Wardrobe Volume II

Another travel kit, but this time it has two mini lip paints. Both are pinky again, but as I already got one mini set, I figured why not get another. The first is a quick dry matte lip paint in rose (rosy nude), and the second is a creamy matte lip paint in fomo (mauve).

Rose reminded me a little of the one tarte lippie I already have Grand, but it’s a bit of a deeper colour. It worked nicely with the lip liner from the other set. Like with Epic, there was a lot of colour in just one coat. It did feel a little drying, but maybe that was cause I’d already tried a few other lipsticks and removed them. This one has more colour than other nude lipsticks I have, so I can see myself using this a little more.

Finally out of the new lippies, we have Fomo. A hilarious name. I really like this one. It’s a mauve colour, so it’s more of a purple-y colour. It reminds me a little of my purple NYX lipstick in Bustier. As always, the colour is amazing with just one coat. It feels velvety smooth once applied and dries matte quickly. I already really like this one too.

Those are all of my new tarte lipsticks, but as I had it nearby, I wanted to try on my old favourite just for fun!

Ah, Grand. I’ve had this since my birthday, and it’s the once I’ve worn the most out of all my lipsticks.

So now I have a lot of these mini lip paints, and I’m so happy! I have a range of nudes and more pinky tones. Between all of these and the rest in my lipstick collection, I don’t think I’ll need any more lipsticks any time soon haha!

Tarte Treasure Box Collector’s Set Review

I shared this little goodie box in my earlier post about my Birthday Haul, but I’m not done talking about it. I’m so happy with it! I went back and forth over getting this or not, as it was little pricey. But, I saw reviews, and it looked beautiful, and I just really wanted it, so hey, treat your self!

Let’s get into this amazing package!

tarte box

First off, the packaging is really sweet. It’s a metal box, which folds out to reveal all the goodies. I love the colours and floral design!

Let’s take a peek inside.

tarte box opened

Ta-da! Look at how much is packed into it! It’s more makeup than I needed, but I definitely want all of it. It’s a combination of blush, bronze, highlight, eyeshadows, eyeliner, mascara, lip gloss and also, a mirror!

Time for a closer peek.

contour swatches

To the left is two bronzers, on top is two blushes, and in the middle is a highlighter. The bronzers are Amazonian clay bronzers in Navigate (matte bronze), and Excursion (bronze lustre). The Amazonian clay highlighter is in Wanderlust light champagne). The Amazonian clay blushes are in Perk (carnation pink) and Wish (watermelon pink). I did a swatch thing, cause those always look like fun! I really like the highlighter! I’m not too into blush, but I still plan to play around with everything.

eyeshadows

The treasure box comes with 24 colours! They’re all really pigmented, and a mix of matte and metallic colours. They also all have cute names. I like the mix of dark, neutral and lighter colours! I can’t wait to play around with everything. The names are also all really fun.

In the first photo, from left to right we have Palace, Artisan, Craft, Culture, Scenic, Whirl, Tales, Trinket, Awe, Bazaar, Cloud 9 and Utopia. In the second photo, from left to right we have Legend, Tempt, Emporium, Globe, Adventure, Souvenir, Odyssey, Joyride, Wayfarer, Lantern, Caravan, and Quest.

extras

Finally, the extra goodies, or the ‘hidden treasures’.

The Sex Kitten eyeliner is first. I use eyeliner most days, and I love playing with this. On one end is the pen, on the other is a smudger.

Next is the Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara. It was easy to apply, and after only one coat, I could already see a difference.

Finally, we have the Tarteist Lip Paint in Grand (Deep Rose). I really love the colour of this on me! Normally, I stick with nude, but I will make an exception for this one. I really like the formula for this lipstick. It goes on so smooth and once it’s dry, it doesn’t budge. I was eating food, drinking from glasses all day, and it didn’t smudge or budge!

To end it all, here’s a picture of me wearing makeup, of which most of it was just from this box.

What’s one of your favourite products at the moment?
