I’ve officially had Life of Angela for 2 years now. It’s been through quite a few changes over that time. Last year, I celebrated with a cupcake. This year, I celebrate with a cookie.
My first year of blogging was very exciting for me. I first jumped into this world and community, and I was always full of ideas and couldn’t wait to get to work on my next post. I blogged daily, read everyone’s posts daily, and devoted a large chunk of my time (outside my day job), planning and preparing future posts. I even went self-hosted a few months in. I viewed blogging as my second full time job really.
This past year had me going in and out of blogging more than I thought I would. The first few months, I was still blogging almost daily and always felt so creative. Then I took my first break from blogging, when we went to Japan in May. Taking that step back from the blogging world, I since found it hard to get back into it. I went on and off for a while. Then we found out we were expecting, and I continued to step back. I’ve now stepped all the way back into my old wordpress blog, rather than continuing my self-hosted one.
Coming into another year of blogging, I’m not sure what to expect. I’m hoping to come to a middle ground. I don’t think I’ll get back to that mindset of blogging full-time, but I would like to stay active in the blogging world. For now, I’m enjoying blogging once or twice a week and just catching up.
Thanks to everyone who has stuck around and hung out with me on this blog for the past two years. It’s nice to return to this online community and chat, discuss interests, and just see what everyone is up to all over the globe.
Here’s to another year of blogging!
Angela.
Happy 2 Year Blog Annivesary! I cannot believe how fast the time has gone. I remember a group of us all kind of started at the same time and everyone was posting daily and doing blog awards etc. Last year I dipped out for a bit and I’m trying to post daily now but I don’t have the same energy I once did. Do you prefer going back to not being self-hosted?

It is crazy that it’s been so long now! There was such a big group of us at the beginning, and it’s cool that so many of us are still going, even if we’ve come in and out of it during that time. Right now, I prefer being back on wordpress. I’m not taking blogging as seriously as I was before when I went self-hosted, I don’t really have the energy for it as much. So going back feels right for now 🙂

2 years is long time in blogging world definitely. I have to admit that when you get out of weekly schedule and take a break in blogging it is really hard to get back into it, I totally agree with you on that. I’m glad we have our blogs as a creative outlets, there is no pressure to post daily definitely, so just write when you are insipred or when it feels right dear. xx

It really is hard to get back into it, once you break the habit. I do agree that having a creative outlet is really good though. I always love coming back to blogging, I’m definitely not pressuring myself to stick to a schedule like I used too.
Thanks Azra 🙂

Thanks Pamela! It’s been fun sitting down and planning out a few blogs recently. Blogging a few times a week definitely suits me more at the moment than trying for everyday 😀

Haha, I’ve been doing a decent bit of baking anyway and making chocolate chip cookies was next on my list. When I realized this was coming up, I decided to make a themed cookie just for fun 😀
Thank you so much Margaret ❤

Big up to you with your celebration of two years of blogging…just like you at first in was so excited about blogging and I was consistent but as time went by I guess I lost interest due to response I got but now I am back and inspired by my fellow bloggers like you. Angela continue blogging and inspire others through blog.

It is hard to maintain interest in anything over a long period of time really, but it’s always nice to come back to blogging after a while 🙂 Thank you for your kind words

I think just blogging once or twice a week, whenever you feel like it and can manage to do so, is the best way to adapt to it so it stays enjoyable without feeling pressured.
Huuuuuuuge congrats & Happy Blogiversary!
Hope you enjoyed the well-deserved cookie 😉

Two years is great! I went to self hosted recently because I thought it was the way serious bloggers chose. Finding a lot of emptiness over there. Hard to break into that world! Gone keep on trying though!
Glad your blog is doing well.

Self hosted is definitely harder at first, keep at it though, and you’ll definitely find your audience again 😊

Happy 2 year anniversary. I’m curious about what you use to write your blogs? Phone, tablet, laptop etc. I’ve yet to find a format that suits me.

Haha, thank you! It’s been 3 years now, but I’ve been on and off with blogging. I mostly write on my laptop as I prefer it ,and its easier for me to see everything I’ve written. But I have occasionally used my phone.
